I haven't been able to get this to work on Windows 7 using compatibility mode and running as an administrator.

I just get the following:

Disque Reconnu: WBFS @ PhysicalDrive7Partition1
Disque Virtuel: OK!
I have my INI file set to P which is the WBFS partition of my USB drive. (Split partion: 1st is FAT32/2nd is WBFS)

Tried it and it installed, but Windows can't see the drive, even rebooted and still can't see it.

It see's there is a raw drive mounted with the letter K, but when I click on drive K, windows asks me if I want to format it (which I don't because there are about 100 games on there).

Still having no luck with this, any idea?

Thanks

Windows 7 64-bit
install dokan 64 bit drivers and rebooted, but

This is complete crap. Edited the .ini just like the readme said, ran the .exe and it F***ed up my partition, it didnt install anything, it just sat there saying Gestion Taille: OK! over and over again, and when i closed it my partition was "RAW" format, and was 0 Bytes in size. Now i have to reformat the whole drive and lose my 20 backups, cause i have nowhere to put them. GOOD PROGRAM.

I never did get5 this working on my 64bit Vista OS, but it is useless at this point since CFG USB loader has been reworked to read and play games directly off of a FAT32 drive.

Allows for easy management of files and you could even transfer them from you computer directly to the FAT32 partition of the USB drive over WIFI or a network using FTPii

Good luck though.

Don't know if you understand File Systems but Fat32 can't take files bigger then 4 GB. Gl playing some decent games on your wii.

Hey Alex,

You are correct in that FAT32's file size limit is 4GB - 1 byte. The updated wbfs_file program automatically splits the .wbfs files (converted from your game disk/iso) into 2GB chunks to get around this limitation.

Usptactical,

correct me if I am wrong. but I am pretty sure someone will come with the question otherwise.
theoratically you could have created 4BG - 1 byte chuncks if the partition was in fat32. (the wbfs_file -s option allows it)
but you limited it to 2GB because at the moment cfg can only read files up to 2GB even if the partition is fat32.

Cheers,
R

Correct. Oggzee hasn't looked into why anything over 2GB isn't working, but then again larger games would still need to be split anyways (e.g. MPT or SSBB).

I hope some day he will be able to look into that.
as I mentioned in the cfg topic there could be a good sense in having it, but it is far from being an urgent matter
wink.gif

as you said some games will need to be split, but a good % would be in one file only, making filing much easier.

quoting from my remark in cfg topic
CODEI think that I am not too far from reality when I estimate that :
around 60% of the games are below 2gbÂÂ---> no split :)
around 30% are between 2gb and 4gb ---> fat16 = split :(ÂÂand fat32 = nosplit :)
around 10% are over 4gb ---> fat16 and fat32 = split.
so if you use "-s 4294900736" you will keep nearly 90% of the games unsplitted...

R

Thanks for the work on the driver. But I don't install drivers like this till tey're supa tested. So I'ma wait till you get a newer version out the door. Hoping to use it to partition my 250gb wbfs drive into a 200gb wbfs and 50gb fat drive.

super bump to the rescue.... lol

The latest verson of USB loader GX will work with NTFS as far as I know, so the 2gb/4gb problem with fat32 doesnt matter.

Hi, I have a problem with my removable Hard Disk. It's a Western Digital My Passport 500GB.
I put a 4GB game on my HD using WBFS Manager without notice that I only had 3GB free. It allowed me to do it but the game didn't appeared in my HD, as if I never did it but I lost the remaining space, it had only 0GB free. No game nor space.

I tought that this application would let me see the trash files that are only using space to erase them but it didn't, it only shows the games.

What can I do to recover my lost space without the need of format my HD?

PD. Sorry for my english...

This is the already reported add disc bug in libwbfs. I think almost all WBFS managers and USB loaders are buggy in this point. If the disc is full the WBFS remains in an invalid state. And this state is very dangerous because the mapping of the last added disc is total randomly. Deleting the last added disc frees blocks used by other discs and write anywhere in the main memory if the block number is invalid == undefined behavior == anything including formatting of all drives of your computer can happen!

What can you do?
1.) get WIT.

2.) use the commands
CODE# drop last added disc (remove but do not free blocks)
wwt -a rm ID6 --no-free

# check WBFS and repair only free blocks table
wwt -a check --repair=fbt

# now check for more errors and report for more help
wwt -a check

Best is to answer in the WIT theme (see signature) because I read it very often.

Great little app this geezer!! A little buggy, but superb all the same. Working for me on Win XPx32.

I tried installing this as a service, but it will never start. Its a bit of a pain that the CMD windows has to remain open for it to work.

Any plans to upgrade this to it can be installed properly? Maybe packaged up as a wise installer or summit maybe??

cheers
