Nice to hear there is a new version!

"[2010.07.29] Good news for those of you who have emailed us asking about GC support on SD card in Wiikey Fusion! A small bug fix to the Wiikey Fusion The popular WBFS Manager application has now been updated to version 4.0 and includes full support for adding GC images to SD cards formatted with the WBFS filesystem. Because of the way it does this, a minor update to Wiikey Fusion has also been necessary. You can download both the new WBFS Manager and the Wiikey Fusion v1.3 update in the members area."

If I remember correctly GC mode on Wii can also make use of an sdcard

If the right loader is used..
You're thinking of the SD gecko... it's an adapter with an SD that plugs into the memory card slot. There hasn't been any loader that lets GC mode use Wii hardware, unless you mean DIOS MIOS?

WbfsManager is under GPLv2 license so wiikey have to redistribute their source code ...

Hope they do it and we could find the source somewhere ...

Can anybody tell me why WBFS Manager isn't recognizing my WBFS-partition while Wii Backup Manager does?

So this doesn't work with softmods, am I right? I am no where near a Windows PC, I'm using Linux and WBFS Manager 3 didn't work with Wine.
Stop using retardedly old versions of WINE.

Sooooo.... Was that a yes or a no? If I get an answer, it helps others as well.

How are we supposed to know?
How should i know? WBFS is just the filesystem. Maybe they just different folder structures or something like that? Maybe WBFS Manager 4.0 is crap? Or maybe they have always been incompatible to each other?
