Is there a way to delete the Forecast channel and News channel. I used to use these but now I dont have my wii on Connect24 any more so they are of no use to me. I want to free up space both in blocks and in the menu.

00010002: System channels
---------------------------------------
These channels cannot be uninstalled using the Wii's data management. They can however be removed with AnyTitle Deleter.

Title ID ? ---------------------Hex ? -------------Description ?

This is probably outdated, but you could try this method...

This has been posted several times. You should try doing a search next time.

Tools you need: Hex editor, FSdump, Wadmaker.

Dump your NAND.

The system channels are located in WII_FS\TITLE0010002\

You'll see several numbered folders and inside of each are two additional folders: DATA and CONTENT. The DATA folder stores all of the files for the channel. If you can't find the WADs for these channels online, keep these so you don't have to format.

If you open up the TMD file, you'll get the 4 digit Title ID for the channel.

Download the Internet Channel WAD.

Hex edit this title ID to the one for the channel you want to remove.

Use the WAD manager to first uninstall this channel, then install it.

Go to the Wii Channel Management and delete the channel. The ticket will stay, but the data will be removed. This prevents the channel from being re-installed when you insert a game with an update.

It's easier to just use anytitle deleter the channels are in 2 parts...

And to those that say "They'll just come back after an update!"...
Well yes they will... But who do you know that update there Wii...
And who doesn't block disc updates w/ some method...
So it's not coming back....

hea but you'll have to block updates from all your older games that contain them, Its a big hassle to keep them off

big hassle!?!?!?
it's real easy I've done it...
delete them w/ anytitle deleter...
block disc updates w/ starfall or use geckoos or bb...

block disc updates w/ starfall or use geckoos or bb... like i said big hassel for just 2 stupid channels

first lets say i'm not on 3.2 i would have to downgrade or upgrade for STarfall second you can't brick block ORGS or you would have to re-burn Backups and use brick block, and geckos you would have to run the game thorugh it evertime, For TWO channels that take up almost no space, yes i would say BIG hasel

I do agree with you, but for most people this would be a big hassel and you know it.

But yes guy, if you do what kitt050383 said you can keep the channels off your wii no problem, I just normally tell people they are wasting their time, its easier that way.lol
