Hardware Wasabi DX would appreciate some help

I've searched far and wide and have found little assistance for the Wasabi DX.
Anyway the obvious issue is that having installed it and updated the firmware, games refuse to work displaying " game disc could not be read".
-I'm burning on decent dvd-r media,
-As I 've said I've already updated.
-The chip led displays green as it is supposed to.
-Actual discs Wiisports and wiiplay work just fine.
-The games actually display at the wiimenu, but fail once I choose to start, all except twilight princess which, responds if I eject the disc and stick it back in but this needs to be done regularly throughout gameplay.
-the update blocker software works fine.

Does anyone have any advice? I have a strong suspicion it's the chip purely because the problem is only with dvdr games.

i have one, it is working for me. i use verbatim dvd-r writing 4x all discs ok (in hardware terms) some games are playing jerky because of the 3x limit, ntsc games give black screen, 2 new games (madworld, pes2009) do not start, original discs working.
so it may be your chip

Try burning the disks at 4x or 2x. I have the DX and have no problem with disks I burn at those speeds but if I burn faster they will not play.
