Misc Wardriving?

Hi all,

Just wondering, is there a simple little homebrew to find out if a particular spot has access to the interwebs?
Like something that scans for AP's and wether or not they are protected/available for getting online?

It happens perty often that I have 15 minutes to myself from time to time and I always carry along my little DSlite.

This would save me the trouble of digging through nintendos WiFi menus to find out if theres something available.

That FTP accessing/file saving sounds perty interesting, too.
I wonder howfast WiFi can suck in ROMS. ^-^

I wonder if theres something out there that simply accesses network shared drives in my LAN. :-3
