Aw bum, does that mean we won't get a 4.2 Updater when the time comes..?

No. I mean, when a new firmware appears I'll release its respective firmware updater.

Great stuff, thanks for that. And thanks for all the hard work you've done so far too, much appreciated

I kind off keep thinking, what if the USB Loaders have an option to launch the game with:

IOS: 249 - 250 - 222yal - 223yal - 222mload - 223mload OR MIOS

...could that work..??

I know the MIOS doesn't have access to the USB part and in some way the GC part shuts down everything Wii related, but if the USB driver was implemented into an IOS, then why is so hard to implement the driver into the MIOS...??

Everything seems to be packed together in MIOS. (Other than the tmd and cetk, it's only two files.) It's probably tough/impossible to extend it for USB support due to this nature.

It's sad to hear that Waninkoko's semi-leaving the scene, but look at it this way: updates to cIOS, etc. will still roll in.

MIOS itself is nothing but the kernel which does some game hacks and maps the DI registers to the addresses the GC uses.
And here is the problem to make an GC-USB-Loader you need to patch the functions within in main.dol of each game since GC games do not read the disc through IOS but use the hardware registers directly.

would that be the same patches for every game?

... and a big thank you waninkoko for all your hard work and making me into a pirate/ninja!

If Waninkoko stopped developing last week I'd be grateful for what I have than what I have not. Whatever you do have fun and good luck with future projects Wanin.

Thank you to the stuff you made.
I can still remember the beginning of the Wii getting really hacked with homebrews how everyone said your apps was unsafe.
I used alot of them and my wii is still running. Never formatted it, never deleted an IOS or anything. It still going strong!

So I really love your apps!

Thank you very much for your contributions Waninkoko, your hard work is greatly appreciated. The scene would've been very different had you not been involved. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
