wait SMP NOPREEMP worked?

PLEASE BE ADVISED.

There have been reports of any cards larger than SD 2GB not working. Please use 2GB SD card.
Also, if you are unsuccessful in seeing the kernel boot, please be sure you have IOS254 installed.

i been testing the ''4GB card image'' with diferents .elf`s(vanilla, carver, NOPREEMP, SMP NOPREEMP,) and evrery, .elf stuck on the same text.

but using a 2GB card with the ''2GB card image'' every elf, is booting to the end. (login, whiite)

hellboy- on your first screenshot, notice how it hangs on detecting the 3rd USB device? it detects your logitech receiver multiple times, can you please disconnect it and try again? thanks

So no on the 4gb image then? Cause we surely cannot fit the 4gb .img file on a 2gb card...

well i'm seeing conflicting results. seems like different cards are succeeding while others arent. For all intents and purposes, from the test above, Hellboy got the linux kernel text on the 4GB sd card, i suspect his failures to reach the login screen are due to some USB devices being plugged in that are unsupported. Some people using the 4GB image don't get past the boot loader, and I suspect that's because they dont have IOS254 installed.

I'd like some more tests of the 4GB image done

It is stated that anything 4gb or larger IS SDHC... Anything less, is regular SD. Just for future reference. Doesn't matter the brand or class of card and no, I have not been able to reach the login with ANY SDHC Card. I have tried 2-8gb cards and a 16gb with no luck.

I would say that we have proven that an SD card is required for vWii Tri-Linux, however, Snailface, on page 2, stated he reached the login prompt with an 8 and 16GB SDHC card...

I have not had one report of a 2GB SD card failing, yet...
I also tried with my 4GB SDHC card, and failed, never making it to the kernel text.

I'll work on an updated 2GB SD Image. Moving forward, I'll focus around 2GB SD. If you are planning to embrace this app, please locate a 2GB SD card.

I am really curious as to how Snailface made it that far on an SDHC card... something doesn't quite add up.

there are VERY FEW 4gb non-SDHC cards that came out just before they invented SDHC cards but they're very rare and, technically, the spec for a normal SD card has a 2gb limit.

That settles it then, in all likelihood, snailface probably used a 4GB SD.

SDHC cards will not work.

First post has been updated with a new image. We no longer require you to dump the NAND, we read 1-512 from nand now.
Who wants to be the first tester? I packaged everything into a .zip with a setup file that should simplify life, if I did it right.

i'm not busy right now...

Ok, I tried on a single windows PC and for some reason it didnt appear that the fat16 partition was written properly, but writing the same image to an sd on a linux pc i was able to mount/read everything...

however when i tested i got stuck during boot. troubleshooting this right now, but feel free to re-flash your sd card for now, ill issue a patch if necessary
