VNDS 1.2.0
DS Visual Novel Reader
[2107]VNDS.png

Version 1.2.0 of DS Visual Novel Reader, which is, obviously - a Visual Novel viewer for the DS.
On the VNDS website, there are some Visual Novels you can download (see website link below)

Extract the .tar.gz onto the root of the SD card so the path is /vnds/.
To install a visual novel, extract the tar.gz in /vnds/novels, so it has its own folder (ie. /vnds/novels/tsukihime).
Sound files should end up in /vnds/novels//sound/.

  • Script.cpp: cleaner line reading
  • Graphical vn select screen!
  • New icon
  • Nicer antialiased text.

Im a gbatemp regular. Its just now that I posted though (Im an silent guy.) and all thanks to this, I decided to post and say how i loved it.

Lol, I'm the artist for VNDS (interface, icons, ect) Just to let everyone know.
(Looks like he doesn't have a credits section yet).
But yeah, I'll be sending him the Download VN section interface when I have time
to use Photoshop. (I'm always busy

; )
I suppose I can make skin requests when I'm not so busy.

@jesterscourt and Cheif_second.
Yes, it's not too hard to make visual novels for this app.
Just very time consuming.
All the script is written in ONscripter code. ONscripter is open-source and free, so
it isn't too hard to find (Google).
Jake (the author/founder/programmer) of VNDS uses a batch image converter to
make the actual game images squeezed down to fit the DS's screen.
I'm not shure if he changed the sound files in any way though. >->;
I'm not the guy to go to for audio help XD.

Is this compatible with M3 Real? I can't seem to get it to load... I try and boot, and just get white screens... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Don't know much about M3 Real...did you use latest version and DLDI-patch?
