Pressing the PS button while playing a PlayStation Vita game will bring up the system's OS. You can access a number of
features, including your music collection, your friend list, and the system's Twitter client, and when you're done, you can jump right back into your current game.

One feature you won't be able to access is the system's web browser. Impress Watch updated its Random Tracking feature about
Vita's multimedia features (see this story for a summary) with a correction about the web browser component. The story had originally said that the browser can be opened up while you've paused a game. Following the story's publication, Sony contacted the site and said that this is not the case. Initially, the Vita will not be able to run the browser simultaneously with a game. In other words, if you want to open the browser, you'll have to exit your game entirely.

lol, PS Vita sucks

lol the more closer we get to the actual release the more supposed things "it can do" will either be completely different from how they said it/and or not possible lol

Is there some good reason for this? I can't understand how the 3DS can do this but Vita not??? (BTW, I'm not trolling, or being a fanboy) but merely confused as to why it can't....

Sony have issues in making a semi-competent web browser.

Not enough RAM dedicated to the OS?

3DS CAN DO THIS SO WHY CAN'T VITA
LOL VITA JUST CAN'T HANDLE IT

/thread? /thread.
Thanks for saving me some time. ^_^

Seriously tho, It probably has a browser that uses up more resources.
Basically, a strong web browser.

Or I could be completely wrong.

A number of things can come into it but one that is most likely is that the browser takes up too much CPU/RAM for it to be running at the same time as a paused game (instead of locking out more of the CPU/RAM than it is already just for a feature that might not be used that much by the user)

Neither the 3DS nor Vita multitasking is impressive. Someone have one purpose or reason in which they would use their web browser during the middle of a game? A handy and legitimate reason that is.

People are comparing the Vita and the 3DS the wrong way. I think it was better described by one article saying that the 3DS and Vita are two completely different machines and they have out grown the "comparison" phase

Still, if I were getting a Vita (which I probably won't) I would prefer an option for a simple web-browser than none at all.

Exactly, I've used it a few times.

You seem to be forgetting people who own a Sony platform have no need for FAQs because of the hardcore nature.

Yeah, why would they need FAQ for shooters? They will just cheat anyway.
:P

Anyway, I caught myself randomly going to forums like gbatemp and going back to my game time to time.
