Recently i got this psvita as "broken" "controls don't work". It looks like new except for one problem: the left stick is upside down.
I did the whole softmod procedure, setup vita2sd, everything seems to work fine. I downloaded Vita Hardware Test and Toolbox2 and both sticks tested fine, the left stick is not registering upside down movements. It also works fine on some homebrew.
The memory card that came with the console had a ancient setup with a lot of homebrew installed back in 2014.

Is there anything that could have been done to the console's nand that screwed up those settings? It seems to affect only games and the main menu. Thanks.

Well, the following is for a PS Vita 1000, and we can go from there...

It seems to me that the problem is still an analog stick, or the motherboard (mainboard) itself is damaged. Assuming that it's not the mainboard, let's "assume" it's the left analog stick itself (which is probably why the Vita Hardware Test showed up with negative results for the stick).

Here is an online guide to help you replace your PS Vita's left analog stick:

Additionally, here is a link on eBay for all of your analog stick needs (take your pick)

And finally, here are several video results on YouTube to assist you in replacing your analog stick:

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!!!

Hello, just in case somebody lands here from google in the future, the problem was a defect on one of the sensors on the left stick.

One of them is reporting flipped values. The easiest (and cheapest) solution was to swap left/right sticks and use reVita to swap up/down axis for camera. Everything else is fine, including the deadzones on both axis.

How did you invert the sticks? I have a similar problem but for the life of me cannot find any option that would let you invert the sticks.
