Ever17 - great story. Some typos but you can still understand the things they fudge up easily. I don't remember any super important parts getting fudged up. Story really, really gets amazing once you go through the true ending.
Family Project - Now bare with me here. This is an eroge. It's INCREDIBLY long for a visual novel. I'd wager a guess to get to an ending, it'll take like 30 hours or so. In that time, something like 4 sex scenes happen for a total of like...10 minutes of hentai, lol. In 30 hours...
The story is absolutely amazing but it has ONE speedbump shitty decision that really throws people off. The very first hentai scene is ridiculous and completely out of place. If you can pass it by, you can easily start what is a stunning visual novel. It starts out at a good pace, gets a little slow, and then just keeps picking up steam until a great ending. Has like...6 endings. (it's 2am, and i'm too lazy to confirm my number). Also, it's a bit dated. The art isn't super amazing, but the music is good and so is the VA.
It's my favorite VN to date. If you do play it, go Chunhua's route first because it's awesome. (and also has the least hentai)
Shuffle! - ...not much to say. It's good. It's also got hentai.
If I remember after work tomorrow i'll look at my VN folder and find more. I've played tons.
But really, Ever17 and Family Project are the two best I can ever suggest.
Thank you! I've already started Ever17, and I'll check out the other ones. I don't really care for hentai, but if the story is good and there isn't too much of it I can deal with it. :]

If you're into visual novels, I'm pretty sure you've played Clannad.
But if you haven't, It is absolutely the best gal-ge ever!
There's an ero-ge spin-off called Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life, if you're more interested into ero-ge.
There are also an anime, ps2, psp, and an upcoming ps3 adaption for it with the same title.
I haven't played Clannad, actually. I'll have to check into that (I think my sister watched the anime of it). Thanks. :3
