So, for school, we are looking at the different ways people pronounce things from across the nation. There are only 4 questions, and I need to find as many people as I can from as many states as possible. So! If you live in the U.S., I could really use your help!
Here are the questions:
1) How do you pronounce "caramel". Spell it phonetically for me ("Care-Uh-Mell", "Car-Uh-Mell", "Car-Mell", etc.)
2) How do you refer to a group of friends all at once?
3) Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper and Sprite are all ______?
4) The general name for places where you shop for food is ____?
Thats it!The results are collected by the entire class, and plotted on a map. I can post the results if anyone is curious.![]()
If you decide to help me out, please post the following information as well:
1) Name (it can be a fake one)
2) Age
3) Occupation
4) State you live in
Thanks in advance anyone kind enough to take the few minutes out of their day to help me![]()

Im not even from an english speaking country and I pronounce it exactly like that.Endogene said:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_corre...onounce_caramel
guess this solves the debate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caramel
looks like the wiki gives multiple ways to pronounce it (god bless phonetics)
edit: strikes my how you don't let people chose the "correct" way to pronounce caramel...
