What is the best way to see if a PKG is fake signed or not? Is there any type of tool that would do this?

Bonus question:
So on the PS3 era, 3.55 is what opened up the floor gates and if you wanted to mod on a higher FW you would need to downgrade back to 3.55. With the ps4, any odds of 4.55 opening up access like that or is it more likely mods for higher firmwares would be the answer?

Thanks

Well fake signed should have pass set to all 0's unless some asshat has made it custom.... use the orbis tools (not linkable here) to open the pkg.

Lman also has a package viewer that can view the contents of a pkg.

The best way is to try to unpack it. A fake signed game can be unpacked without the decryption key. The files packaged are already decrypted if it is fake signed.

Aaaand no. What happened in PS3 3.55 is we got hold of the PS3 legit software signature. That meant no exploit were necessary, homebrew were signed like official software and the system ran it just like that. In PS4, we are relying on exploits to execute unsigned stuff. Those exploits get fixed, and version walls are created.

Ok so I came across some PKG's that ask for a password but I can still extract the Param.sfo and other files from them.... What does that mean exactly? Tad confused
