Hacking V1.4.2 patch for R4ids Gold Non-3DS version has been released

Now to update my DSi to 1.4.2.

This is such a relief, I was honestly worried that the team was going to stop supporting the original cards.

This update is too good.

I got a problem, I tried updating my card and it said Fail. So I turned my DSlite off and I turned it back on and the DSlite froze on the splash screen. So I tried a couple of times, but still the same. So I grabbed my DSphat, but still the same thing, the DS is now freezing at the splash screen. Here's a video of it happening:

it freezes with the r4ids gold on the slot 1 and without it on the slot 1? or just with it on slot 1?

i remember that happening sometime ago, after i turned the ds off, taken a cartridge out and putting another... it would not pass that... i just took it out and put it in again and it worked xD

this all in a phat ds...

Yeah, it doesn't matter if you have more than one of the same flashcart just as long as one is working.

Ok, I just popped in a brand new R4iGold (non-3ds branded) with latest Wood and latest patch, turned on dsi, ran r4, ran patch, pressed A and this popped up.

Ok, I just popped in a brand new R4iGold (non-3ds branded) with latest Wood and latest patch, turned on dsi, ran r4, ran patch, pressed A and this popped up.

When the card fails the check, take it out and put it back in and re-run the patch. It should work then.

make me wonder if the upgrader could be modded so it flashes to other cards that are compatible with these cards, like other R4's that this card can use the OS for
any maybe it will make them load the Wood on them.

I can confirm that the R4i gold (Non-3ds) with 'www.r4ids.cn' sticker on the card DOES work on a 1.4.2E DSi after this update... & it shows Spongebob Icon

Ok, I tried other R4iGold(CN) carts that I have (I have over 10) and it seems like the ones that have Alex Rider as the Boot Logo can be updated to this new patch.

I think you're using the wrong update patch. You need to use the update patch for the new R4iGold 3DS. The patch this thread is about is for the original R4iGold. "Meet the Robinsons" is the bootloader for the R4iGold 3DS (the newer card).

They even said the new 3DS card is upgraded hardware. Obviously not, lol again.

obviously be careful as i cannot test but looking through the code the bootloaders work the same and this will flash a DSTTi to the R4iGold Bootloader allowing wood to be used

I have a couple NON-Branded 3DS carts from R4iGold, that look like regular r4iGold carts, but it seems they are 3DS carts, with wrong packaging and stickers, at first use it displays Meet the Robinsons, after using the 3DS patch from the r4ids.cn site, it updates to MIAMI NIGHTS 3D
