Its much, much, easier using GeckoOS / 0.3 Gamma's Rebooter, and setting "NoCopyFlags" to Yes, and rebooting.

There, you can move any Wii Save, be it Brawl, Mario Kart, etc...
do you have a link on this method so I can learn more about it?

How to decrypt a backup savegame without modchip:

1. Copy over your gamesave through GeckoOS
2. Download and compile Segher's Wii.git from http://git.infradead.org/?p=users/segher/wii.git
3. Use tachtig to unpack the data.bin
4. Do whatever you want with it
5. Use twintig to repack the savegame

Of course, that's for Linux. If you wanted to decrypt the savegame, you'd need to dump the Wii's unencrypted filesystem. But then I don't know how to repack the savegame so meh.

This question keeps coming up because of that Animal crossing tool that only works with decrypted save files. Anyone think they could edit it to just read the data.bin aka the original savegame?

I actually am interested in this too. also, I tried rebootign thw gamma loader with the nopy copy flags or whatever, and the save extractor still didn't work. it gives the ret = -1 error
