Homebrew Using R button from the cpp via hack

So my R button is brocken and i was wondering if there was a way to use the circule pad pro buttons on any game via a hack, not talking zr or zl , just the r button on the cpp, thx )

I think rehid is what you need as it allows rebinds to the Circle Pad Pro IIRC

I've tested this out but it doesn't seem to work for GBA VC games for me. Am I doing something wrong or is that just the limitation of rehid atm?
