ROM Hack Using HANS (and the implications thereof)

I'm looking into creating smash 4 mods for the 3ds, and trying to decide if HANS is a good way to HB-patch the mod files in. Being more of a newcomer to this field, I need to know if HANS' method of Romfs-SD patching is permanent or not. This will be a big help, since I was not able to find an answer anywhere else.

HANS does not permanently patch the game. It only patches while the game is running in HANS.
