Using cheats for nds game on 3ds.

I have authentic cartridges for nds pokemon games like Heartgold, Black 2, and Pearl. I want to use cheats like I would for my XYORAS using checkpoint. But checkpoint cheats won't work with nds games.
Is there another application I need to download onto my 3ds to use cheats for ds game on 3ds?
All help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Check out NitroHax, it'll let you boot original carts with various cheats activated. Unfortunately, it seems it doesn't work properly with DSi Enhanced games, so the Gen 5 games may have issues.
