Hey guys, I've been wanted to know this for quite some time now. I've been looking around on the internet for an EZFlash 3 in 1 for the DS but I really don't want to fork out £19 for one. I do however own the Nintendo DS browser with the memory expansion pak. is there some way I can make the DS utilize this to let me run GBA roms off of my R4?

Sorry but no. Quake 2 requires 16 MB of RAM, but the opera browser expansion only has 8 MB.

Taken from the official Quake 2 DS site:

Unlike Quake 1, there is simply no way of fitting Quake II into the memory configuration of a stock DS. To play the game you must have a supported slot-2 flash card that contains a minimum of 16 megabytes of RAM.

Supported cards:

* 'Proper' SuperCards, eg the Lite, SD, MiniSD, and CF. The SuperCard Rumble and SuperCard One are not compatible.
* 'Perfect' M3s, eg the Lite Perfect, the Mini SD Perfect, and the SD Perfect. The Mini SD Pro, SD Pro, and Lite Pro are not compatible.
* EZ-Flash cards which have a slot-2 component and can play GBA games over 32MBit, eg EZ 3-in-1, EZ 4, EZ 5
* G6 Flash

Note: the game will not run without a slot-2 RAM. There will never be a version of Quake2DS that does not require extra RAM.

However, you can use it for Quake I DS, which I believe is what you asked about.
IIRC, Quake 1 DS doesn't even require a slot-2 memory expansion. I think you can make the game faster if you do have a slot-2 though, and the opera memory expansion should work fine for that since the amount of RAM doesn't really matter.

QUOTE(Gun0master @ Dec 4 2009, 09:55 AM) Well I have an R4, so it looks like I'll need an EZFlash 3 in 1.
Yep that's the best choice for you.
