At the moment, it only detects Vita games. Maybe in future, but I assume since PSP titles use ePSP rather than Vita kernals, the method to dump those titles will have to be different.
you can buy a psp & play the psp games. Instead of wasting psvita precious expensive memory. I bought the psp 3003 7months ago for just 25$s. PSP is cheaper then vita 6gb memory.

Well that is good but the price of vita memcard are way to high. So instead of wasting money on 100$ vita cards you can buy a psp for 25$ & get a memstick pro adapter & add 2 64gb sd card that will cost 40$s. So you get a psp+128gb & 200+ psp games for just 67$s.
psp games, psp homebrew, ps vita games, ps vita homebrew, ps vita updates, and ps vita dlc will take up the memory of a ps vita memory card pretty fast since it's not like a psp where you can use 128gb or possibly higher due to micro sd card adapters. If you only want one device then sure if you don't mind buying multiple ps vita memory cards.
Of course both of you are right, but nobody asked about price tags. The questions at hand is "Is it possible?" rather than "Is there a poor man's solution?"
You can do it the way you like, I'm fine with using a 32GB Vita memory card for both Vita and PSP games.
There was a mini tut I saw on wololo forums describing how you could use package installer and a PSP to get a PS1 game onto the Vita which otherwise could not be installed there. Should also work for PSP games.
