Hacking USBLoader with Game Images

The best option now would be to combine everything just as it had been in the Gamma Launcher. (Option pages, set forces, set ocarina etc. ).
AND.. I saw others working on different GUI's so whats the point on working on this when another one will be released tomorrow... it will just keep continuing again.
 
Not my loader, i just created the wad using someone elses dol and someone elses images - none of that is mine , but im glad it worked all the same.

Ok, Thats an easy Fix .... (I missed teh last number of pages, but I can do that in minutes)

I think I'm also out, no more Covers or info ... I'm just doing all this work, so everyone can run off with it and do as they please. (which I wouldnt mind if it had a Main Purpose, which everyone has now ruined.)

If your on about the site i did , it has a purpose - the loaders can now be modified to auto get the images from an online source for anyone with an internet connection if someone wants to code that in.
None of the sites that had the images would have been able to supply the boxart in the format required to do this as there was no wii game code -> boxart translation.

If thats possible then the use for an sd card would be gone right? because you could just install a wad and the wad would fetch the files from the internet right?

NOTHING to do with what you did djtaz !

It has Everything to do with all the beggers, leachers (did I say beggers yet?) and people who just wouldnt let a good team of folks do something they set out to do.

Lots of people contributed here, but WAY MORE didnt give a rats ass about any more than getting a WAD out of this ... Which quite honestly if they had done some reading, EVERYONE of them could have created their own in 5 minutes.

But Nooooooo, some people are too lazy

Lol , no ur ok. I made the wadder site and hosted it for icefire cause the app is really good and makes life easy for people - i was making them manually before wadder came out and it got to me. Yes anyone can make a wad if they search around and find out what they need - they are just lazy

Actually, most attempts to make a .wad (or forwarder) have failed for the multitude of people who'd tried. Least, that's what seems to be a big contributing factor.
 
Mine worked just fine ... Everyone was having issues, maybe because they didnt know what they were doing, or didnt read all that they should have ?

Either way, that is my take ... It is all just too bad.

Back to my super secret coding now ... before the wife yells at me again tonight.
 
ok can some one help me please i can not get the covers to show i have tried all kinds of things i am using nixxloader.

what folder and where ?

caps or no caps some help please!!!!!

you should add a blank.png to your image pack, because nothin on the first page, has anything with blank.png, just noimage.png and bg.png, missing the blank.png


It does check first release of this app.

Yeah but for one the 3d would be a lot harder to code and where would we find the 3D cover art.

I think that if we simply had it with zero to few effects with the covers that we have it would be awesome though
 
Sorry guys, I've been sleeping and then working all day. Besides I figured everyone jumped to Shizzy's thread.

Now I see there are multiple GUIs going on (again) - with some using libWiiGui (Snes GX menu). I admit, I started playing with it and even have the source to one of the projects, but in the end I just want a simple loader that can quickly show the images and run the games. Not like I'm going to be in the loader more than 10 seconds anyways.

I change how the loader mounts to sd in usb-loader.c. Also I made the menu.c unmount the sd when a game is selected to boot.
For Ocarina I didn't found the codes when I made the changes. So I made fst.c mount the sd after you chose the game and then unmount if it doesn't find codes or if you select to applied the codes to umount after the codes ha been loaded.

BTW, Thanks for integrating the SD fix 56killer!

The blank.png file is NOT needed for nIxx's version (I'm looking at the code now). I only used it in my first version to deal with game images that weren't all the same size.

AND Regarding WADs:
The only WAD I would think anyone would want at this time is the forwarder, unless you enjoy installing and uninstalling WADs. Just install the forwarder and always place whoever's USBLoader version in the apps/usbloader directory. Besides, you need the SD Card for the images anyways unless you are loading them from the internet, which is going to be a lot slower than loading off the card anyways.

To anyone having trouble loading images, with the forwarder and nIxx's version you need to put the images in the /app/usbloader/images directory. At least it worked for me. Putting them in the root images directory didn't work. Maybe I'm using an old (2 days ago) version, but that worked for me.

First, 3D cover art would not be hard at all. Simply a matter of scanning the insert (which is a single wraparound piece anyways) and applying it as a skin to a generic white box template. Just makes me wonder how long it will take before one of the big brains out there snags a Starlight and reverse engineers the firmware. I'm making predictions now...within a month we'll see a hacked Starlight interface ported to the older Wiis, much the same way other big brains figured out how to port the newer iPod interfaces for the Classics line to other, older iPod gens.

Anyone else care to wager? 1 month, if that.
