Hello all,

I tried to search but I couldn't find anything, sorry if this has been answered, my question is: There's no method to extract a WUD file for install?

I know the reason for the games being on NUS and disk, but if we are using a disk ticket, will not be possible to somehow install WUD files or convert them?

To get the ticket on your own wii u from your disc you need to boot fw.img

To get the files use nusgrabber.

There should be eventually. From what I can tell with the hour I spent comparing Nintendo Land's CDN contents with the wud, all of the content from the eShop version is in the wud, byte-for-byte. The problem is that no tool yet exists to fish them out. Manual extraction seems difficult, as some contents are not stored contiguously.

Like others said. If you have WUD you can extract it with Uwizard. Then you can install with WUP Installer. Uwizard can also decrypt if you want for loadiine

So this means we just have to extract that WUD file, dont decrypt it, put it on SD and so on? I though real disk images are diffrent from NUS downloads?

Wuds are only needed for the ticket but even then you don't need wud as you would dump them with iosu. The nus files are what you install with the ticket taken from the wud/iosu

Yeah I know. But what to do if there is no NUS download available? Can I still extract the whole WUD (ticket and encrypted game files) to use it for WUPInstaller?

I don't think it is possible to get the full game files in it isn't in nus. But may i ask what disc games are not in nus? (expect NSLU)

For most games the WUD and NUS files should be the same.
Otherwise the tickets won't fit. AFAIK the tickets include filecount and sizes.

But we have currently no way to extract the encrypted files in a proper way from a WUD.

Maybe the developers of Uwizard can help out?!

That should work. WUDS are full games. You would still need to replace or modify the ticket with Brazilian method but you can use WUDS or NUS

Are you sure? I thought Uwizard can't extract encryptet files that were useable with wupinstaller.

But it's been a long time since i used uwizard...

I may be confusing it with New Nusgrabber gui. It's been a while for me too but I'm pretty sure I remember first extracting and then decrypting for loadiine

So when a ticket is extracted... I can be used on anyones WiiU provided its the same region? Or is each ticket locked to each console? Sorry just confused on how this ticketing system works

If you extract a ticket from your disc - anyone can use it with a wiiu from the same region. eShop titles, however, have console specific tickets and cannot be used on other wiius.

So essentially what this method is doing is assigning a disk ticket to an eshop game right? And because disk tickets (being on disks and physically shareable) contain tickets that are open, they work on anyone's WiiU?

So NUS grabber grabs the Eshop version of the game and we assign a disk based ticket to it? Whats preventing someone from just uploading all the tickets?

You understand well. And nothing's stopping people from doing that - the dumped tickets just aren't available on gbatemp because we don't share copyrighted files. Look elsewhere.

Sweet!

So what major games are disk only and non eshop? Guess those are loadline only for now. I know disk layouts are different from eshop layouts (even from the Ps3 days, disk versions of games and PSN versions of games varied a TON in terms of how the actual files were broken up. Ni No Kuni comes to mind as being a game where the disk had 20 or so major HUGE files while the eshop HDD version contained over 60,000 small files)

There are no differences between disc and eShop file structure for the same game. And the only popular first party game that isn't disc+eShop is NSLU.
