@MaeseJesus I can now confirm that the title length does trigger a crash when using an increased font size. Although it looks like the loader doesn't expect you to increase the font size to anything over 0.8, since that introduces some layout issues. And if you toggle the system font setting off and on again it resets the font size back to 0.8.

I'll look into it more during the weekend.

I tried this finally today. Thank you so much for your help. USB Loader GX now autoboots perfectly fine via priiloader.
I'm glad that priiloader channel booter still works.

I should probably take a look at priiloader's code at some point to see if it's doing something wrong, since everything else can launch the loader without any issues.

Hey thanks for your reply. I've tried both and personally I like it better how it looks with extended, it's like everything's supersharp (sometimes maybe too much?). The only game I've found issues with extended is Prince of Persia the Forgotten Sands (won't boot).

Cheers
It'll vary from game to game, depending on how they're using filters. So for maximum compatibility I've got to recommend using "Off (Safe)" as the global setting and then applying the extended setting to specific games that might still look blurry.

If you're comfortable using the extended setting for everything then of course you can do that, but we already know that that will introduce visual issues in some games.

Prince of Persia is one games that uses MetaFortress, so you can't apply any modifications to it.

Hello, i keep getting that problem for months
I guess you're using the SourceForge version?

Delete any usbloader_gx folders from your SD card and USB and then try with my version.

@blackb0x in your last comment you mentioned that using "extended" will result in visual issues in some games, do you mean issues similar to the fade to black at the start of soul calibur 2 with filter removed? or you mean something more drastic ? cheers

We've only tested the extended patch against a small number of games for a short period of time, so it's hard to say for sure. But I would assume that most issues will be minor like that fade to black issue in Soulcalibur II.

You'd need to play some games from start to finish to know for sure if anythings broken.

Current release:
  • Fixed boot issues for some people
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some homebrew to fail to return to the loader
  • Fixed an issue that prevented WiiWare and VC games from being patched correctly
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the date and time to be wrong for some people
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some Wiimotes to connect as player 2 instead of player 1
  • Added deflicker filter options (the safe option is recommended)
  • Added Portuguese and Russian synopsis support
  • Added an option to reset all game settings
  • Restored the option to update Nintendont from the features screen
  • Corrected analog stick ranges and made the cursor speed much more consistent
  • Corrected some translations (update your languages)
  • Improved how banners are displayed on Korean Wii systems
  • The loaders homebrew browser will now only search for boot.dol and boot.elf files
  • The custom server option will now only be displayed when necessary
  • The cheats URL can now be edited via the config file
  • Updated the build tools and some libraries
  • Miscellaneous corrections and improvements

Hi blackb0x, I updated from the 6th to this 7th release. All seems to work ok, but I was not able to start Snes9X anymore (4.5.2). So I put a backup copy of the 6th release back and it immediately worked.

If you need more info, please let me know.

Have a good day!

@blackb0x Ooh.. it didn't work.. i got the same error after loading resources

Did you see it listed or did it give you an error? Because I tried launching it via the loader and it works correctly.

I haven't changed anything that should cause homebrew launch issues. But I did make the homebrew browser only search for boot.dol and boot.elf files, since RetroArch used to flood the homebrew browser with it's cores when any .dol or .elf file was accepted.

@TalalQ8 The stack dump should be different between my version and the SourceForge version. But if both are giving you the error then either your SD card or USB HDD might be starting to fail.

Does the loader eventually boot if you unplug your USB HDD before powering on your Wii? If not then you could try removing your SD card and placing the loader onto your USB HDD instead.

What do you mean?

Any chance you can work with @Badablek to integrate his tab mod as a UI option in a future version?
I released an improved version of the tabbed mod 2-3 releases ago, but I stopped supporting it because it was doubling my workload and it's incompatible with themes.

I might eventually update my tabbed version if I can get GitHub Actions to maintain that branch.

What do you mean?
In the picture where it says "STACK DUMP", the codes should be different for the SourceForge version of USB Loader GX and my version.

But like I said, unplug your USB drive before powering on your Wii. Does the loader boot without the error? If it does then the issue is with your USB drive, but if it doesn't then the issue is likely with your SD card.

Thanks! I can help test if needed.

What if it was an option in the settings that, when turned on, it changes the theme to the default one? That way it will keep compatibility with existing themes and you won't need to maintain 2 versions.

So if i got the hdd error even if i plugged my usb, is it my usb drive’s problem? I didn’t get that problem even when it plugged. The weird thing is WiiFlow and cfg (configurable usb loader) works normally but usb loader gx used to work but it used to work in june

@TalalQ8 If the loader still displays an error with your USB HDD unplugged then the issue might be on your SD card.

Did you delete the apps/usbloader_gx folders from both your HDD and SD card before trying my version? And in June did you update anything or add a new game?

I actually don’t really remember in june but i used to have usb drive but i replaced it with my new hard drive that i bought in week’s ago and the problem with usb loader gx was great, and the one your sayin my version was the same result, but for hdd topic. When i plug my hard drive through my sd card it doesn’t say about hdd but if I unplug it i’ll get the hdd error thing but waiting after 20 seconds and after the loading recourse will lead me to this error yet again that I’m annoyed of and idk how to fix it, by the way i was talking about the past when i had that problem again till now it’s my second time getting that error, the first time was the same but when i deleted it and re download it after a 1 month it worked perfectly but in june it was the last month that the loader will work till now it doesn’t work and it’ll lead me back to hbc more and more

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I downloaded your version but i got the 20 error after the loading resources and it’s the picture that i just send you already

Hey blackb0x, what do the "safe" and "extended" deflicker options mean? I'm going to test some games and I don't know what I should choose.

Hi blackb0x,

I saw it listed as per usual in the loader and started it through that Snes9x forwarder channel. No error was given, just a black screen, while the 6th release immediately shows the Snes9x logo screen on startup.

@TalalQ8 But did you delete the usbloader_gx folders from both your SD card and HDD before reinstalling the loader?

And could you please get a new picture of the crash, since the one that you originally uploaded and reposted 2-3 times was from Cyan's SourceForge version of the loader. My version should have different addresses for the "STACK DUMP".

Ah, so you're launching it via a channel forwarder. I was launching it via the loaders built in homebrew browser, which does work.

For years the loader wasn't able to patch WiiWare and VC games, but I fixed that in the new update. I think that fix is what causes this issue though, so I'll need to try to make it handle both games and channel forwarders.

EDIT: I've fixed it for the next release.
