I do not use EmuNAND.

If there's only the choice between 56 (249) and 57 (250) Then I tried both and it doesn't seem to change anything.

And as I say it's not really crashing. The game is like still functioning, because you can turn it off with the controller. If it was crashing you should hold the power button on the console for some time to turn it off.

I tried with different dumps (Something weird is that Wii Backup Manager says that some dumps really has a size of 1.06 GB while others 1.23, which is something I've never seen with other Wii games).

I tried the Sha1 check and if I'm looking where I should (the Log) it says:

"Verify Data Thread SFVEXJ Fishing Resort Pass"

EDIT:

Okay,
so I tried to put it on a FAT32 USB, with IOS 249, and I've been able to play the kayak game twice in a row.

I'll try a bit more, if I can play like 5 times without failing, that could have been the problem (Again, the first and only time this has happened).

I'll come back after testing. Thank you!

EDIT2:

I've been able to play it four times before that attraction was closed, so it seems that the different partition did de trick.

Which brings me this question: What's the best way to format an USB for this? Should I format with a set ammount of clusters like Nintendont?

Last edited by Maeson,
The USB that I tried first had a WBFS format. This is the only game that caused my any problem related to the format of the USB... In fact I think it's the only game that gave me troubles period, aside forcing wrong video resolution or that cache issue that I mentioned above.

The second USB, the one I tried right now and seems it works, its FAT32 (I do not know the cluster, if it matters).

WBFS partition was probably the issue like I suspected in my previous post.
FAT32 is now recommended to prevent game corruption issue, and all homebrew are working with FAT32 so it's providing another benefit.
I usually prefer using 32k/cluster, but some users recommend 64k for faster load time in some Gamecube games. I don't know if it can affect compatibility, but 32k seems a good common value.

note that if you have multiple games on WBFS partition, you might have other games with the same issue without knowing it (it's due to how the WBFS partition is managed).
It usually happen if you use an old tool to manage your WBFS partition (like "wbfs manager")

Hmmm. Interesting. As far as I know every other game I had in that USB was working with no problems, and I "100%" some of those games. This was the only one that acted in a weird way in several years of use.

I guess I'll have to format that WBFS USB to FAT32 and avoid all these possible problems.

Thank you Cyan, GreyWolf, and Wrettcaughn for all your help, too.

WBFS Manager is outdated then? I have it installed, but I don't use it in who knows how long. I switched to Wii Backup Manager.

Oh, by the way, can I use the "Rename Title" option in Wii Backup Manager to order my games without USB Loader GX having any issue?

It could be really useful.

EDIT:

I formatted the previously WBFS USB to FAT32, and installed the game on it. It seems to work fine, I've been playing with the kayak several times and it loads fine.

Hopefully a quick question... Have a Wii coming in the mail and I'm prepping my SD card and drives. Do I need to create separate partitions on my HDD for apps vs backups?

Edit...
As I was typing that I figured I would just run apps from SD and use the drive solely for backups...
This is what I'm doing, personally (I even use my SD with Roms to be used with Emulators, but I have a 32GB SD so I got plenty of space) however to answer your question, yes, you can use the USB with "most" apps, no need to create different partitions, my advice is just stick with Fat32 it works with everything.

Yes, you can use WiiBackupManager to rename all your game's folders.
It will not affect the game's title displayed inside USBLoaderGX, as it uses its own Title database : gametdb
go to settings > update menu > Wiitdb (wii title database)
go to settings > features > use wiitdb : yes

it will rename all your games with their correct names.
You can sort the games alphabetically, or using another sorting method by clicking the top icon near the favorite and the Search icon.

Thank you for all your help, Cyan!

I've also learnt how to use cheats on specific games without having them turned on globally, which is great because the only cheats I use are controller ones (Like Classic Controller on DKCR).

Was the error message "USBloaderGX couldn't verify Nintendont boot.dol file. Launch this boot.dol anyway?"

That means it couldn't detect the version of Nintendont. Did you try downloading it again and replacing it? If your apps folder is on a FAT32 SD card it shouldn't have any problems reading the version number on revisions from the past year. Nintendont has a version string embedded in it.

Why redownloading it ?

It's usb loader who cannot recognize an up-to-date version ...

Because it's not USB Loader GX or Nintendont causing your problem. I'm looking at my credits screen right now and it says "Nintendont v4.421" on it.

And also because the version manifest is the one thing I've contributed to both projects so far. :P

what's the place nintendont is in on the sdcard or usbstick? cause i recognoze this fail as what i had ones download nintendont.dol, rename it to boot.dol, then place this boot.dol inside sd:/apps/nintendont/ wich would make it sd:/apps/nintendont/boot.dol
for some reason usbloader couldn't update or read previous version if there's no original one.
coud be that i was using an old usb loader though.

Why not try everything? It took longer to type that post than it would to download it again and copy it to your drive.
Because i've tried several solutions, including re-downloading it, and downgrade nintendon't version. and to going back to older nintendont's version worked.

So i'm not a dev but i've concluded that usb loader gx doesn't support an up to date version of nintendont ....

*shrug* Suit yourself. It's not the loader, though. As I said in my previous post I'm using r1260 with Nintendont r421 right now.

@Jack Daniels USB Loader GX doesn't update Nintendont anymore. It was disabled because of issues with SSL.

So, what should i do ?

Could you provide a screenshot of the file location on your drive or card and a copy/paste of your meta?

Also, where did you get the loader from?

Lastly, how are you booting GX? From system menu? From HBC? AutoBoot from priiloader?

my dol is on a nintendont folder on an apps folder on root of my sd card ...

i get the loader directly from the github...

i'm booting usb loader directly with a shortcut with preiiloader.

So GX is your installed file in Priiloader? Have you been updating your installed file with each GX update?
