Why when the hard drive gets on sleep usbloader gx doesn't wait for the hard drive to wake up but instead of it, it crash/freeze? (The hard drive wakes up it isn't this the problem but the usb loader gx has already crashed so it doesn't matter for it.)

I cant answer that question but you can probably turn off that feature that puts your hard drive to sleep. What brand hard drive do you have? You can probably go to their website and download some software that will let turn off sleep mode.

I am not really sure maybe @Cyan knows why? It's a verbatim 2tb HDD I found the software, I hope it will not do that again.

@Cyan i would like to throw this request back out there.

Looking at my VC and Wiiware games on the emunand. Is there a possibility to have on the screen where you check the consoles to display games for, have selections for the types of VC games. As in something like shown below with check boxes before each category such as "VC N64", etc.

Emunand
VC N64
VC NES
VC SNES
VC Sega Genesis
WiiWare
ETC..

At this time categories could accomplish this. But since the data is already there for the console type I thought this could be a little more integrated. Just a thought. Thanks for your time. Hope all is well. :)

You should go look at the GX code and find room for this. :) It's about at its memory limit now.

It has been asks like 20 times now.
It can be done, just don't know if I'll do. probably when I'll add homebrew and plugins to the main list, as it will be updated from simple checkbox to a checkbox list to be able to list more items.
I don't plan rewriting it before v3.1

v3.1 is "almost" done based on the roadmap from 2 years ago.
It's missing only 2 main things : hdd fix and final gamecube menu (copy/move/delete multi-disc games, etc.).

note that it can only be done based on the TitleID, but not all TitleID are matching their corresponding console type.
but it should be good for 95% or 98%

for the moment, users can do it by using the category menu.
Set the "all" to empty
set the VC SNES to "check" if you want to see only the Snes.

You can reorder the category list manually by editing the xml, so you can place all the VC at the top for easier switching.
Using GameTDB should have 100% reliability to set the correct console type. So, maybe it's not really useful to add it to the "type", because the "type" is "channel" not "snes".

you should filter based on both Type + category.
Channel + Snes
Channel + NES
etc.

The only thing I don't like about using categories is that if you have a lot of games it seems to lock up and looks like it's frozen for a long time before it unfreezes and shows you those games. Not sure how that can be improved. I have noticed though that if I have the category set and leave it for the next time I launch USB Loader GX that it seems to list my games quicker. I'm assuming that's because it is listing less of them due to the category I chose. Maybe you can have it set up where before USB Loader tries to list the games a box comes up asking what we want displayed. Maybe it will make things go a little quicker. Just a thought.

Yes, categories is a method to achieve this at this moment and is what I am using. A more integrated approach is what I and others are requesting. It seems we are on the same page, so that is good.

On the type select screen it would have Emunand "Type" as it does today, but then have the list of the "Console" below it, so:

EmuNAND
WiiWare
VC_N64
VC_NeoGeo
VC_NES
VC_SNES
VC_TurboGraphX
VC_Master_System
VC_Genesis_Megadrive
VC_Commodore
VC_TurboGraphX-CD
All I can ask for is that it is on a list for consideration in the future. :)

For installing slot 250 is this correct?
On the Wii run the installer found here Previously linked by Cyan http://www.mediafire.com/?5ggh53tj9hhp1tr select slot250, d2x v8, base 57, version 21008. install, exit, done.

Is 21008 the version correct? That is the version I used for my base 56 install in 249.

Installing that and selecting it per game in the settings should resolve Just Dance 2014 and newer correct?

yes, that's it.

The version is not very important. It's what nintendo uses to know if there's an update available.
if a game has a higher version on its update partition than the one on your console, it asks to update.
most users have priiloader with update block, so it will not bother you even if a game disc have a higher version.
if you never launch a game from the official disc channel, you don't care too.

in that case, we use it to reflect the cIOS version : 21 mod 008 (d2x is a mod of cIOS rev21)

if you need to launch disc games from disc channel and you don't have an update block from priiloader, you can select version 65535, which is the highest possible value. As there's nothing higher, nintendo can't update that slot anymore.

if you want, you can install it in slot249 and replace the base56 with the base57.
lot of people use base56 because all guides tell them to, and it was decided like this because it's slightly faster than base57. but Base57 has a higher compatibility so you don't really need base56.
if you install it in slot249 you don't need to change any setting.
if you install it in slot250, you can either set the loader to use slot250 globally or individually for problematic games.

I did ask Cyan before to implement a cache feature which theoritically should speed loading the games list "the same concept is used with Multiman on PS3 I think" he confirmed that it is possible but he had no plans for it at the moment, I think this option would help a lot of people!

I did notice though that if you use EmuNAND and have many games there that EmuNAND is the slowest of the bunch, if you want the list to load faster disable EmuNAND from the list and try to load it again, it should load much faster!

The cache solution should fix that loading speed.
But it will be only an option and not forced on all users.
It would add difficulty to end users with 10-15 games. not every users have the full library.
only users who know that they are using the cache should use it (as you would need to refresh it manually when adding/deleting a game, or else it will create issues)

Thanks for the reply. Why would the guides not state to use 65535 instead of 21008?

Because using fake version info isn't a good idea when you have much better options like blocking updates with Priiloader.
Less info will be revealed especially back in the days when syscheck apps aren't that detailed and even now when noobs still use outdated syscheck apps.

If I try to download covers for my games from the application, it will freeze but I still can move the cursor around. I am using version 3.0 r1260, I loaded it from a SanDisk Orbit 16gb (FAT32, 32kb allocation). I am attaching a syscheck to this post, if you need anything else, let me know.

Your syscheck is fine. Are you sure it's frozen? It takes a LONG time to download the high-quality covers.
