I have another problem.

When I try to rip a Wii game it gets stuck at 0%.
Even clicking cancel doesn't work so I have to turn my Wii of by pressing the power button 5 seconds.
It is a black Wii WITH Gamecube ports.
Gamecube games DO rip correctly.

What could be the problem here?
I'm running rev 1226.

Thanks

It was his flashdrive. He tested another one, and it worked.
Though, the same model worked on another (white) Wii, but it's probably a different chipset inside the flash drive.
I don't know why some flashdrives have issues, it can read but not write.
I would need a non working one to check it myself, but I don't know if I can fix it, it's maybe a cIOS compatibility issue.

I don't think he tried to use IOS58. Maybe it would be interesting to test to use 58 while in the loader (to be able to write games to the drive), and reload to cIOS to play games.

Hey guys, quick question. So I recently got into this (yeah I know I'm late, long story). I've followed the procedure to install DIOS MIOS (Look, before you guys tell me this is the wrong thread, hear me out! I'm listing the past things I've done to see if I need to do anything extra), and I have IOS236 installed as well since I guess you need that to run DIOS MIOS. I want to install USB Loader GX. If I follow this tutorial: would this work for my Wii? (Not Wii U, regular Wii.)

Send me a PM and I will help you with getting dios-mios running (Don't want to flood this thread with anymore posts then needed).

Cyan, can you upload the .dol file that is used in the uneo forwarder wad I would like to use the .dol as an autoboot for priiloader, USB Loader GX is sitting on my hard drive I have a 2gb sd card and don't like that it gets filled up so easily. So I moved everything to my usb drive, and priiloader doesn't read homebrew from usb.

Right now I have priibootergui autobooting postloader then I have USB Loader GX autobooting from there with AHBPROT access but it takes more time for it to load this way then autobooting to the system menu and booting the channel.

I did however come across a glitch in the USB Loader GX program this way, when it is loaded from postloader, it breaks access to any non cIOS installed. I had IOS 58 set as the loader IOS and 249 as game IOS but after booting into the loader through postloader it automatically changes the loader IOS to 249 and when trying to change it back to IOS 58 it tells you it cannot find the IOS and reverts back to 249, but homebrew that requires 58 still runs as long as AHBPROT is enabled in the xml sheet for example WiiMC won't work without AHBPROT access or IOS 58, it black screens if the loader IOS is not 58 or AHBPROT access isn't enabled.

the forwarder dol for priiloader is provided in the "all-in-one" package on google's code download page.
In the package, look in /wad/forwarder (strange place to put a dol, but it's there :p)

As I don't have priiloader, I'm still wondering how this is working.
to get ahb access, you need to run UNEO channel which has the tmd edited to enable it.
But when you launch the forwarder's dol (not from a channel), there's nothing in it that actually enables ahb access.
when installing that dol in priiloader, it works fine?
I always thought it would require a dol which actually reloads the UNEO channel, which itself provides ahb access before forwarding to the loader.
Maybe that's what this dol is doing?

I'm not sure to understand all your report, but I'll re-read it!
Maybe postloader doesn't use the arguments located in meta.xml?
I never tried postloader, maybe I could test it and see your problem by myself.

Oh okay thank you for where to find the dol file.

Well postloader aims to be an HBC/System Menu Replacement/USB Loader Forwarder but doesn't pass options for out of region games unless using neek, anything else doesn't have an issue with it.
I tried passing the "ios= 58" argument but it still chooses to load 249, but AHBPROT gets enabled then allowing any Homebrew to work, as I said in my previous post WiiMC doesn't boot on 249 unless AHBPROT is enabled.

yeah the two minus signs are there it works when loaded through the system menu or the homebrew channel but when loaded through postloader it only finds cIOS' that are installed.

Ive been a config usb loader since day 1 and never tried out anything else. I decided to get gamecube games working, and also ocirana cheats stopped working in config. I updated config and still broken cheat codes, so i tried out wiiflow which has no text when i boot it up (still working on it) and also cyan's 1227 mod1 of USB Loader GX. I am extremely impressed. I got nintendont working, cheat codes work, everything looks terrific. I am going to try a little more to get wiiflow working, otherwise, im going to just stick with usb loader gx.

Cyan, the 5.1 loader .dol worked like a charm after I modified the XML sheet I'll zip up my results and upload them I'll probably upload it to filetrip unless you want me to send it to you to upload to the google code project site. The reason I did this was because with usbloader gx located on the hard drive priiloader doesn't see it. So by using the forwarder and the Meta.XML I modded it'll look for usbloader gx on USB/SD and then load the load cIOS 249 then load and patch IOS 58.

Hi, I installed USB Loader GX on my PAL Wii U's vWii/Wii mode. However, the application (and maybe the Wii U, it doesn't ask me to format it when I start up the console) doesn't read my USB stick even tough I formatted it and have a PAL game iso on it (Xenoblade Chronicles). Could anybody help me with this? Thanks.

PS I used this tutorial:

usb loader GX just reboots after I start it. I formatted the usb flash drive with WBFS manager (apparently drive is on the compatibility list), tried both usb slots. Black wii, 43u. I have base 56 on 249 and base 57 on 250, hbc, priiloader, a bunch of other things to try to get things to work. Numerous walkthroughs. Can someone help?

Edit: I got wiiflow working at least, trying a rip now...
It managed to rip DK country returns, but when I try to play I get a stack dump. help?

WBFS = Wii Backup FileSystem
Don't use wbfs manager too many issues with it, use Wii Backup Manager and format to ntfs and you'll be good to go for USBLoader GX

Use USB slot 0 ( Wii horizontal = bottom port) (Wii standing up = Left port)

Alright, I'll try, but I am on a Wii U. Which USB port would that be? And is that app safe to use with the console? (I am using a PAL Wii U)

Forget what I said, I was confused. Anyway, an error occurs whenever I try to format it to NTFS but it's completely fine when I tell it to format to WBFS.

muffin:
The NTFS part was a reply for the other user.
Don't use NTFS nor WBFS format. Use FAT32.

on WiiU, the ports are the other way.
Port0 is the inner port, while Port1 is the one near the edge.

If your drive is not recognized at all by the console, it's maybe missing power.
If you don't have an external power cable, you will need a Y-cable to connect you HDD to WiiU. It's explained in a lot of vWii softmod guides, I don't know if youtube guides provides correct informations.

kevin messerschmidt:
You can use FAT32 too, instead of NTFS.
It's even recommended to use FAT32 if you want the best compatibility with all other homebrew and loaders (like EmuNAND, Gamecube games, Emulators, etc.)

I did manage to get DK downloaded and running on a flash usb. Now I'm using a hard drive formatted to NTSF and wiiflow. It sees the DK game. When I try to install another, it crashes when it tries to read the game disc.

SO the usb loader and wiiflow are the same thing, right? I can try to get DX running and rip from there.

I don't know anything about vWii but I assume it's all the same considering it's just a Wii sandbox mode. Meaning it has the Wii system menu installed but it doesn't interact with the WiiU mode.
