Hacking USB Loader GX

download the Default.them file.

• Rename the file to default-jp.them (or whatever you want).

• rename line 17 from :
"Image-Folder: Example\n"
to
"Image-Folder: default-jp\n"

• Save the file and put it into the "theme folder" defined in your "user defined paths" menu in the loader.

• In the theme folder, add a new folder named default-jp (this is the folder name you defined in the .them file)

• put your font.ttf in the default-jp folder

• Launch USBLoaderGX, go to Theme browser and load "default-jp"

edit: quick question, what is the purpose of renaming the image folder name? and should I rename any of the others from example to something else?

The "image folder" value is the the sub-folder name you put in the theme folder, where you place the new images and data for the given themes.
The loader list all the .them files in the theme browser.

Do you have cios236 installed. If you do when you start Hermes v4 select it as the ios to use after that it should install for you.
PS Hermes is for all loaders

If "it" refers to Hermes cIOS v4/5 and not IOS236, then this is a weird issue that has been reported before and can be sidestepped. For some reason sometimes people can not install Hermes cIOS using his installer and IOS236. In these cases Hermes installer was still able to be used by selecting cIOS249 instead of cIOS236 for use in installing his cIOS. If you do not have cIOS249 it is always able to be installed using Waninkoko's cIOSx installer and IOS236. IOS236 of course being easily installed using the IOS236 installer running with AHBPROT access via HBC v1.07+

All this can be avoided altogether luckily by installing WAD versions of the cIOS instead of using the installers. WAD versions can be obtained easily using ModMii or via a quick Google search.

Well, yes and no... ModMii v4.5.2 does not have an option for Hermes cIOS v4 222[37/38], but it does have an option for 223[37/38] which should be just fine for your uses. If you really want to install 222[37/38], just tell ModMii to create the WAD as 222 when it asks.

If you can't find the option, just follow the following off the Main Menu:
- Enter A for A = Advanced Custom Downloads
- Enter 223 for 223 = cIOS223[37-38]-v4
- Enter 222 for Slot 222
- Enter N to leave the version number unchanged
- Enter Y to confirm...

You should now have cIOS223[37-38]-v4slot222.wad in your *\COPY_TO_SD\WAD folder.

Does USB Loader GX allow you to force games like Madworld to 480p? If so, how? I have a USA Wii.

I just tried to use a new Seagate GoFlex drive with the USB 3.0 attachment. The drive is read by USB Loader GX just fine, but starting games leaves you with a black screen. Configurable USB Loader works. The drive is formatted FAT32.

Is there anything I should try or is this drive incompatible?

I don't think there's something specific for USB3.0.

Dexter helped debugging it, but maybe there's again a new hardware revision, or a timing, or cIOS, etc.
Try with another cIOs (hermes v5.1, or Waninkoko rev21 (not d2x if you are currently on d2x))
You should see with Dimok if trying a different cIOS didn't help.

Do you have an usbgecko?
It helps debugging it.
