^Seeing as how the 002 fix in GX is named wrong, wouldn't it be better to rename the options to prevent the confusion?
I don't think it's incorrectly named, it's just that people don't know the difference between the 002 fix and Anti 002 fix.

The 002 fix was something that started to be needed with rev13 of 249. All the other loaders made this fix mandatory. GX made it configurable. You do want to have this option on for all games if you are using rev13 or higher of 249 (but not rev13b).

Now, if you have rev12 of 249 or earlier (or rev13b) of 249, then there are some games where the 002 fix in the IOS breaks the game. For those ones you need the Anti-002 fix. Most of the loaders include this Anti 002 fix, including GX and Configurable, but I believe WiiPower has removed it due to the confusion.

Thus, the confusion is mostly caused because you need to switch on the 002 fix in GX, but every other loader does that for you. Despite the fact that the Anti 002 fix is named the same in every loader, some people coming from GX to other loaders ignore the "anti" part assuming it is the same 002 fix that GX had, when it is actually a completely different thing.

The summary for those that have a newer revision of IOS249:
  • 002 fix is good and you need to switch it on in GX (I think it might even be disabled by default) but there is no equivalent to this in any other loader as it is always on by default.
  • Anti 002 fix is bad. You don't need it.
The summary for those that have an older revision of IOS249:
  • 002 fix is arbitrary. I don't think it affects much whether it is on or off, but perhaps it does need to be on for some games. There is no equivalent to this in every other loader as it is always on in those loaders.
  • Anti 002 fix is a must for some games (particularly newer ones I think). You will need to switch it on if getting errors. This patch type is present in most other loaders as well.

Not so sure if the actual error requiring the anti 002 fix manifests itself as an 002 error message.
I am on rev 9 of cIOS249 and typically I will use the anti 002 fix when I occasionally encounter a black screen upon loading a game - I never get the 002 error screen (which I believe is usually blue and has the text message about the 002 error)

Ah, that does sound plausible. I've never really been sure.

Help I have tried the 4 directions to flip the box cover to read the back but all it does is change the flo type.. how the HECK do I flip the box cover?

is there a way to edit the forwarder so it only looks for usb instead of sd cause sometimes it wont find my usb i always keep an sd card in for wiiware and virtual console and its a little annoying to have to remove my sd card to use the forwarder.

Not a feature on GX, and I personally don't think it's necessary.

Can't you just change the directories on your SD card so the forwarder won't find them?

As if 50% of GX's features are necessary.

Yeah no I don't need it.. I accidentally posted this one under the wrong thread. Will USB Loader GX ever support .wdm? So that I can finally have a single USB Loader.. right now I have to use configurable usb loader to run some games because of .wdm.

Two questions:

1: Installing a game = It hangs at 100%...Why?
2: Medal of honor 2 = choose alt.dol..It Freeze...Why?

My sys is 4.2E
Waninkoko 249r19 base 38
Hermes v4 222-223
HD Fat32
Gx r935

I think the compatibility for cIOSx (18 or +) has be removed, because there was some problem, and reverting to previous revision removed few new features (Hermes V5, cIOSx, and Return to Loader, noDiscInDrive check).
It will be added again later.

In the meantime, you can install cIOS rev17, or set Hermes cIOS V4 as main IOS.
I have cIOS17 and successfully dumped a DVD to WBFS with r934 (I think it was that revision).

Thanks Cyan.

Just tried Hermes v4 222 as main and installing seems to work now!

Hi has anyone else run into the following ..... Files > 4Gb on NTFS not working under USB Loader GX ?

Using Wii Game Manager ver 1.5.0.2 I transferred my games from a wbfs partition to ntfs and Metroid Prime Trilogy and Super Mario Smash Brothers Brawl stopped working for me. I deleted the wbfs file and directory for them, then from ISO's using Wii Game Manager I replaced MPT and SMSBB on my USB HDD NTFS partition as unslplit wbfs files with directory, . Again they failed to work. On reaching the spinning disc USB Loader gave the file sizes as 0.00 and did not play any intro sounds, on launch I would get a black screen and frozen wii occasionaly I got a glimpse of a wbfs file error reported but it was too quick to get the detail.

To solve the issue I had to 're-split' the wbfs files (wii game manager) at 4gb and now they operate again, Spinning Disc shows the correct total file sizes (~6/7Gb) and the intro sounds are back.

None of the other games all

@petspeed

Thankyou

Honestly I tried looking/searching on the support site for something like those links myself and failed miserably.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
