I read the readmii and couldn't find anything on this,

does the loader retain preconfigured settings if you enable quickboot ??

Yes, it does. Just make sure you have the settings you want for every game before turning it on. Otherwise you'll have to turn it off the edit a game's settings.

how come when I updated through the Channel version, I got "Update Dol" or "Update All" I never got that before when I updated?

I'm getting this aswell. Seems to be downloading the dol instead of the wad. Using Rev 633.

Hey guys

I made an installation guide for this loader.
It starts from zero.

STEP 1 – Installing the HBC and a cIOS.

If you are COMPLETELY new to homebrew, this little guide will tell you how to install homebrew on your wii. The guide can be used for every system menu (up to 4.1).

First, follow steps 1 and 2 of this guide: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=155844 to get the HBC on your wii. Our next step is to get a cIOS installed that is needed for the loader.

Online method (Using wifi on the wii)
Get the Trucha bug restorer by wiipower and run it with the HBC. You will see a lot of text on the screen. This is how many installers/patchers look like.

1) Select IOS36 and press 1 to continue (wait for the text at the bottom).
2) Choose Downgrade IOS15. Then download from NUS (2 times). Follow instructions on the screen.
3) Run TBR again. This time choose IOS15 and again press 1.
4) Go into the IOS36 menu. Use these configurations: 36 YES YES NO. Then choose Install patched IOS36. Choose Download from NUS once again and follow on screen instructions.
5) It will exit again, so load it one last time. Choose IOS36.
6) This time choose restore IOS15. Get the IOS from NUS and let the app finish everything.

We are ready to install our cIOS. Get the installer here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=6133 .
Follow all the instructions at the link, but choose IOS36 instead of IOS249. When you are asked to use wad install or online install, choose online install. You will then have the cIOS needed by the USB loader.

Offline method (no wifi on the wii)
Get the NUS downloader and Trucha bug restorer. Use the NUS downloader to download 000000010000000F v257 (enter it like show on the picture at wiibrew, don't forget to click Pack -> WAD with the name IOS15-64-v257.wad). Do the same with 000000010000000F v266 (and name IOS15-64-v257.wad) and 0000000100000024 v3094 (named IOS36-64-v3094.wad). Place the 3 wads at the root of the SD card.

Now follow steps 1 – 6 from the Online guide, but instead of choosing "Download IOS from NUS", choose "Load IOS from SD card".

We are ready to install our cIOS. But first we need one more file from the NUS: 0000000100000026 v3610 (named IOS38-64-v3610.wad). Place it at the root of the SD card. Download the cIOS installer: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=6133 . Follow the instructions at the link, but choose IOS36 instead of IOS249. You have to choose wad installation. You will then have the cIOS needed by the USB loader.

STEP 2 – Preparing your USB device

Optional

The USB loader can load images and other info of the same usb device as where the games are stored on. To be able to use this function, you will need to make two partitions on the USB device. The partition for the images should have enough with 2GB. You can also make more partitions for other purposes. Use GOOGLE to find out how to make partitions.

Required
The partitions have to be formatted to FAT. They must be primary and active.

STEP 3 – Preparing the SD card
You can also use the USB device for this if you made a second partition in Step 2.
The fastest way of installing the USB loader GX is to download the Easy installer. Run the application and click next (be sure to have an internet connection). You will be asked what files to put on the SD card/ USB device (dependant on where you run homebrew from). Recommended is to download everything except following things:
-The languages that you won't use (only one language can be checked),
-The WiiTDB.zip
-If you already have images for the loader, don't check cleanup, as it will remove the images.
Next, you will be asked where to install the loader to. Advised is to install it to SD:appsusbloader_gx or USB:appsusbloader_gx (replace SD/USB by the drive letter of the card/device). If you're done, click install.

STEP 4 – Running the loader

When you first boot up the Loader (using your favorite method of booting homebrew), you will be asked to format a partition to WBFS. Choose your partition and press A. If your partition is formatted, you are ready to use all functions of this app!

Original version has links to every file (I mean NUS and TBR, not illegal files)
Let me know what you think of it. If you can add or correct anything I would be happy (also if its perfect of course).
I wanted to add it to the readmii (which gets completer every day)
biggrin.gif
Please guys say something about it (even if its "thats the worst guide I've ever seen")

Also a Q: Why do we still need 'block IOS reload'? Isn't 'alt dol' for IOS reloading games already?

I know that. But it won't get your personal wiitdb.zip, so thats why I recommend not to DL it and get it with the loader instead.
But the rest is OK?

Maybe I'll add an optional step on how to get wiitdb.zip.

hello

I have a big probleme with rev 611 , the cursor is reverse , up is down and left is right ..

I would go with:

UPDATE!

Was this so hard?

Thk but i try to update and I have always the probleme. I don't have this prob with the other wiimote.

This wiimote work well in wiiware or wii menu but not in usbloader GX ( all is reverse) and when I play Wii sport resort, the button + / - / 1 / 2 / home dont work, they are Inactive.

It's very strange, what can i do ?

I try to synchronize the wiimote , but nothing

thk

Hi, i try to use the rev 639 with the news of wiitdb , i follow the istruction and obtain my wiidtb.zip file. I try to use for example on grand slam tennis, the game is set to italian language. When press 2 , i read general information, but not the synopsis. I understand that if don't exist synopsis in my language, the program use english synopsis.

Is true and in this case, why i don't see nothing?

3.2 rev9 , gx r639

Thank you very much

Lorenzo

Crap, loader was working great and then I clicked on one of the View options on the top right - BAM!, Exception DSI occured! I reinstalled the wad but everytime I get the same black screen with error after launching the loader. It disappears after removing USB drive but I can't get to the menu.

Delete GXglobal.cfg of the config folder. This will restore the view to normal.

Thanks, how can I access config folder?

I wonder why the ugly side of all NEW PLAY CONTROL games is being used?
The flip side of the cover blends in with the other games much better.

Using Pikmin 1 as an example. This is the normal type cover currently in use

This is the flip side of the same cover, the type that all of us would rather have

Over on the Google project page I noticed this image:

Have I missed an option or something? How do you get the Wiimote charge level to show please? Thanks.
You didn't miss something
You can see the charge levels in the exit menu (press home button on wiimote)

Remember: this loader mimics the wii menu

I realise that as standard when pressing the HOME button. But the image above shows the charge levels on the loader screen, not on the exit menu after pressing HOME.
