I think it would look better if the top 'layout' bar remained centered when switching from list/cover to multi-cover view. Also, it's so easy to accidentally click on a title in the game list instead of one of the icons in the bar. Maybe it could be changed to something like this?

*Added Update Button to the Settings which can Update to newer Revs (only seen
when in UnlockMode)

**Big Thanks to CorneliousJD for Hosting the DOLs)**

*Reverted ardi's stuff which made codedumps on the Download (sorry ardi commit
it again when its fixed)

I checked the source as I'm not at home to test it, and it appears that there should be an update_path option at the loader to give the directory you want to update
wink.gif

The default one is of course
"SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/"

OR
check the site http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/
for elf, channel, forwarder, icon, meta, covers pack, language files, covers pack, disc pack, old hermes 222 which was compatible blabla

(NEWS page informs about the important stuff)
(plz read first post or help page at site before asking)

People who cant load the loader or having some troubles
they should try to use .ELF
since .ELF is a lot more accurate in processing code

marino so this the update button would only be good if your using a forwarder or the HBC right cause the channel would have a dol embedded in it right?

I am having an issue where it only loads nodisc.png and noimage.png despite the fact I have the correct covers in the folder I specified in the options. Any ideas?

Have you checked the size of them?

Try to delete a cover and download it via loader...just to see if it works.

is it true that the new cIOS rev12 version will have the ability to use a LAN adapter?

rev12 will allow to use a usb peripheral at the same time that your hdd , so i can answer : yes (in theory).

+1

The theme that I am using is getting cut off at the top, bottom, and sides. I notice that both background.png and wbackground.png are both 640x480. This can't be right. What size is wbackground.png supposed to be? I do not see it on the wiki....

Also, what do some of these new buttons do? What is the ABC and the Graph button? When I click them nothing happens...

Didn't see this in the first thread, so don't kill me....

What is the difference between using ios249 and ios222? I'm using 249, but I'm having spindown issues with Mario Kart. I thought I read somewhere else on here that 222 randomly writes small bits to the HDD to keep it spinning; is that true? Or did I completely misread something? Thanks!

@pitweasel

you're right. with cios222 you don't have the issues. But it seems GX Loader can'T handle cios222 atm...
Wait until Saturday.

Then Waninkoko will release his new cios249rev12
this should hopefully fix many issues.

hopefully at least for me the big issue is the ability to use a LAN adapter, I be in heaven once I can use the LAN adapter

All right, I can be patient. However, if I may ask out of curiosity, why does GX have an option in the settings for 222 if it can't handle it? I actually didn't even know that that IOS existed until I saw it in my menu.

i've tried to make a little modif of the official theme (different background) , and i meet the same problem , a part of the background is cut off in top , bottom and left right.

for wbackground : that's the correct size.
in fact the loader stretch wbackground to fit on 16/9 tv , instead of using a "real" 16/9 background (size of 852*480)
so to create a good 16/9 background , you must work on a 852*480 picture , and then stretch it to 640*480.
once you load the theme on 16/9 tv , image is stretched to 852*480 and look like the original unstretched (but with loss of quality)
So i'm wondering why not using directly a 852*480 picture , instead of stretching one.

buttons are not new.....
ABC sorts list of games by alphabetical order , and the graph by "most played" games.

The sizes are right! The widescreen background has to be designed in a different aspect ratio, then downsized to 640x480px.

The wiki is rarely updated. Do not rely on it.

know what would look nice? The rev number being shown at a the upper right corner just as the wii version is shown in wii settings

Insignificant thing though, but really would be nice.

I agree, why the stretch 'hack'? And it is not just the background getting cut off, it is also the 'sort' buttons and the text at the bottom in the middle. So I wonder has anyone figured out the solution to this? Is it a config edit? Or perhaps a different aspect ratio? Any plans for true WS support in the future?

ah !!
in my case it's only background that is cut off.
sort buttons and text are not...
Perhaps is it some sort of scaling done by our tv , and not the loader. (although i have no problem of cut off in games).

I think the "stretch hack" is here for coding facility , maybe easier to code this way than being obliged to develop 2 interfaces.
