Hm... I was having a code dump when trying to download covers from wi-fi using version 1.0. Then I thought it could be because I had no folder to keep the covers. Is that possible? I'm unable to test it right now...

You can define the cover path in the settings, but the folders need to exist already

That is totally wrong. You can set up as many subfolders as you want in your coverpath and discimagepath the loader is gonna create them ITSELF AUTOMATICLY right after you press YES on download.
I cant exactly say why you got a codedump but its not because of folders. Usually it is because LAN adapter is set up. (It is not supported and will be in the next cIOS249 Rev11)
Also you need to set the folder right in the options. You are not allowed to forget an / like:
SD:/images/

Very true... My suggestion... It would be nice if the Loader would write the "global_settings.cfg" file, in the same directory the "boot.dol" file is being loaded from. Then, in the Settings Screen, there could be a setting called "Custom CFG", which would then copy the "global_settings.cfg" file to a defined location. This way, people that are just using USB Loader GX will have a "clean" SD Card, and people using a boot loader, such as Preloader, could still use the custom path they need!giantpune said:I thought about this earlier today. The trouble with this is that it needs a config to tell it where the cfg path is. If you want to save your settings in SD:/assclown/fartbreath/ How will the loader know to look there? It's the chicken and the egg situation. There has to be a path coded into the app. Either that, or it scans the entire SD card looking for the config file.
dimok said:omg dont you guys get it? HOW THE HELL SHOULD THERE BE A DOL FOLDER WHEN THE DOL IS LOADED THROUGH CHANNEL? THERE IS NO DOL FOLDER WHEN ITS LOADED THROUGH A CHANNEL/FORWARDER/PRELOADER.
oh my god i give up the explaining.....
Yes; we get it. The .DOL is loaded from the NAND, when using a Channel/Forwarder/Preloader. But when you are using HBC, there is a definite folder! So, as long as you launch it from the Homebrew Channel, for the first run to configure the "Custom CFG" location, you could then have the "global_settings.cfg" file anywhere you want! So if Preloader needs it in "SD:/config/", you run USB Loader GX ONCE in HBC, set the custom path, then you never have to run it again from HBC (if you don't want to).dimok said:omg dont you guys get it? Sorry... I must be confusing you all... My suggestion would still allow you to use your Channel/Forwarder/Preloader/...etc!Spidy1000 said:I hope you dont, i have a nice forwarder now that could not be used any more, just leave it as it is now
Well, i could just use the config from there and leave the dol where it is now (couldn't I?)
I would steer away from this. Several people have had problems with underscores ("_") in their paths. Just read several pages back.dimok said:I think i am just gonna move the freaken config folder to "sd:/apps/usbloader_gx/config/" so that people stop complaining. After that it stays there.
