Quite frankly it was a dumb (or lazy) decision. I noticed it used to be SD:/config.txt which is just as bad.

will there be an option to choose orginal disc art versus custom/alternative disc art?
i did a switch between 3d and normal covers but then i came to the conclusion that it's kinda... nonsense... so i deleted it. it's not like "uhm today i feel like 3d covers and original disclabels" and tomorrow maybe custom discs and flat covers. It's stupid because you would have more folders on your sd then... one for normal boxarts, one for 3d, one for custom discs, one for original discs... so i think it's not coming

.
instead of the switch, then how about to be able to select the covers folder (and discs) you desire? Then someone may use it as switch, or just to set a non default path without editing the txt.

Note: Soon I'll also post the latest rev 238.

I bet it was the IDE to USB adapter that didnt put your HDD to sleep and fried it while spinning at full speed for 3 hours
Put the HDD in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer for a couple of hours.

it is already cold, it wasn't spinning, it was in sleep mode with no command to wake it up (maybe my adapter fault)
I don't think it's a heat problem, I already use it for hours without problem.

i hade issue in the past with old hdd , the freezer methode is actualy working offen , like the other guy told you put it in a plastic bag, i have been able to save cusial data like that in the past, and by the way i use an external enclosure, i never shut it down it is allways on, so o good sugestion would be to by yourself a little enclosure they are very cheap , i paid mine 12$ canadian

hope you will be able to save your hdd

best luck

which basically is the "switch". Because switching between 3d and normal covers in the loader just was changing the path where it looks for the cover. But that would increase the folders on your sd what i didn't want. if you would do this without separate folders you would have to mark the different covers somehow (extra letter or something like that).

Several people have requested this change. Most agree that the "config.txt" file should reside in the same directory as the loader's "boot.dol" file.

+1

biggrin.gif

this is a step in the right direction , but it won't work for a lot of people who are using preloader to skip past the factory wii menu . when you install a custom .dol to boot to , the .dol is copied to NAND and run from that location , so having a config file in the same directory doesn't work unless the preloader is rewritten to also copy config files to NAND .

QUOTE(DPyro @ May 1 2009, 07:02 PM) Pretty much everything should be in the usbloader folder. There should be no reason to have everything at root.

this is the way some other loaders are doing it , and a much better way , imo .
preloader can copy the USBLoader to NAND and configs can be read from SD:/usb-loader , which should hold all configs , covers , etc .

I mean that someone without the config.txt would be able to say (usually at first use) that he wants at that folder to download and save his covers and discs, something we do today by editing the config. But it's not like I would die if you won't include this.

actually change the config folder to something like SD:/data/usbloader-gui/

If every app would use that we would have at app folder the files we can easily replace or delete and at data their settings or some temp folder they need.

hi all, i know im probably being stupid but ive come into this a bit late and all i can find is the main dols. but i dont have all of the other files. the config file is missing and everytime i click on to download covers i get a screen dump. where can i get the config.txt from? sorry if its on the 1st page but ive been over and over and cant find it

btw , the guy who posted mediafire link to the custom revision 233 (the one that is supposedly stable and flawless) . . . download is broken . you might want to replace the file .

After change this im menu.cpp

Code:
(GXColor){255, 255, 255, 255})

i get this error

menu.cpp:4254:2: warning: no newline at end of file

it still compiles and works just dont understand what it means

Sounds like something else got changed. What are you using to edit the "menu.cpp" file? Programmer's Notepad? What line number? Are you missing a ";" somewhere?

On line 24 and 29, the ## must be remove if u want it to be read by the loader.

Good job !
