Ok. I got it to work. I did not have the IOSs installed correctly. I also had to set the game load to custom and pointed the emuNand saves to the usb drive. After I did that, it all worked. It was having some kind of save space issue.

Is there a way to force the VC games to 4:3?

I'll be releasing another d2x cIOS update to address this.

The issue occurs because a mistake was made 13 years ago in the cIOS, and I recently unintentionally partially corrected that mistake, so I just need to fully correct the mistake to make cIOS 248 (base 38) work correctly on the Wii again.

On the Wii you can try changing the games aspect ratio to 4:3, but you'll probably need to set your TVs aspect ratio to 4:3.

Have you looked into issue with scrolling to the right? If you press "+" and then immediately press "-", it keeps scrolling to the right until "-" is let go. Doesn't happen if "-" is pressed and then "+" is held.
Honestly, I'm probably not going to bother changing that since it'll never be an issue if you're moving your thumb from 1 button to the other.

Got it. I have noticed that on more instances than i would have liked. And i wasn't constantly pressing plus and minus scrolling left and right. More of a nitpicking though. Thanks for the awesome update :grog:

d2x beta3???

I've installed new version of USB Loader GX and cIOS and what to say... no single crash during loading so far (this was the main problem for me), graphical issues fixed. But only one game I've problems with (We Dare) still don't work - game hangs just after player selection (music still plays). Anyone have a solution?

Bug I've noticed in the Test build (that I don't think is in the stable) is that in the channel view, when a game moves around for any reason (i.e. changing the star rating) it doesn't update the channel banners. So for example a game might have the banner for, say, Sin and Punishment 2 when really it's New Super Mario Bros Wii because that happened to be next to it. Does this explanation make sense.

Also not a test build bug report perse since this seems to have long been a problematic game, but I cannot get Monster Hunter Tri working for the life of me. Tried changing IOS settings, forcing video settings, turning off emunand, nada. Best case scenario it crashes as I try to make a character.

Is there a way to get the USB loader to force games to launch in 240p?
Similar to VC games.
This would greatly benefits games such as Castlevania adventure and Contra rebirth.

@Error52 Monster Hunter Tri and G works perfectly with default settings (Slot 249 base 56, Slot 250 base 57, d2x-v11-beta2). A few years back you'd need the Hermes cios to get it to work.

It looks like that game uses MetaFortress or something similar, so go to the games settings and disable the 480p fix and make sure the deflicker setting is set to auto.

I see what you mean. I can try to fix that, but it'll be a little tricky.

When I started working on the theme changes, I considered removing the channel view since it is by far the slowest and most memory-consuming view type. Obviously I kept it in the end, but I'm not a fan of it.

That works for me with the loaders default settings.

No. It can't be done reliably, so I haven't added it.

One game I never got to work with neither the previous version or the beta is Veggy world. Anyone got it working?
That should work with the loaders default settings.

I found two games that can't be forced to run in NTSC on an NTSC console. The games in question are both resident evil archives (pal). If you force them in NTSC, they give a black screen. If you force them in PAL60, they run at 50Hz, but on a PAL Wii, they run at 60Hz. It's a shame, but at least there are the GameCube versions, and they work correctly.
Does anyone have any idea why this happens?

Hey all, can someone please remind me of how to add custom titles to game names? I have some wii and gamecube romhacks that show up twice with the same name, but I'd like to change that. any tips? thanks again for all the hard work

It'll vary from game to game. But the main reason it'll fail is because the game needs a more aggressive patch.

There's multiple versions of the Revolution SDK and it's tricky to come up with universal patches, so unfortunately this is unlikely to improve anytime soon.

For modified games, the best solution is to use WIT to assign a new game ID and title. So if we take Super Mario Galaxy as an example, you'd want to change just the last 2 characters to ones not in use by GameTDB.

Code:
wit edit --id "RMGE22" --name "Super Mario Galaxy: Extra" RMGE01.wbfs
Then just rename RMGE01.wbfs to RMGE22.wbfs.

If you use an ID that's already in use by GameTDB then the loader will end up giving the game the name from GameTDB.

Don't bother trying to set custom names via the loader directly, since that was basically deprecated when caching was added.

I tested r1282 on my vwii

on r1281 i could switch aspect ratio for resident evil remake from 4:3 to widescreen using force 4:3 option but not in r1282

Im using off (extended) & auto for deflicker filter & video width

I noticed that Veggy World is not possible to force to 480p. It just switches to interlaced mode regardless of the settings.
Is it one of those small number of games that only runs at 480i such as Mad World.

It looks like that game uses MetaFortress or something similar, so go to the games settings and disable the 480p fix and make sure the deflicker setting is set to auto.
Worked like a charm. Thank you :)

Another question. Is there a way to run 4:3 games (Wii games, like Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, and GameCube games too) on pillarbox, while my console is set to Widescreen (16:9)? Changing TV settings every time I run 4:3 game is not an option (of course I know what it works and why I would get worse graphical results than leaving console settings and changin TV's ones).

I tried the new version and installed the new d2x cIOS for better compatibility with VC/Wiiware titles, but Castlevania Rebirth gives me a black screen after the game loads. I get to see the wiimote warning and the Konami logo, but then it black screen. Anyone got an idea why?

It was working before, using v.1281 and Sneek.
