Can anyone help me? I hacked my Wii the other day and have only backed up my own disks via usb loader gx. yet when running my games off either sd card or usb flash, new super Mario bros Wii will always black screen just before going to the map/level select screen. So it's either just after loading a game, or when starting a new game it's just after the intro plays (with the big cake, etc). I have tried multiple cards and drives, and it's always the same result. I've followed the Wii.hacks.guide exactly, and even did all the troubleshooting from rwiihacks ultimate guide to loaders. I've tried a 1gb sd card, a 16gb FAT32 MBR sd card, and a 4gb FAT32 MBR USB stick, 250gb NTFS formatted HDD, all with the same results. I'll post my syscheck.csv below this. Also tried Wiiflow and it was the same result. The game obviously plays perfectly off the disk. THANKS!

your syscheck report looks correct.

try with your 250 GB external hard drive and format it FAT32 and use "wii backup manager" to manage your games.

test with Configurable USB loader v70 and see the result?

Thanks for the reply.
Why do I need to use Wii backup manager? Aren't the loaders capable enough to make backup images of my original Wii discs? Do I even own a PC with integrated DVD drive at this point?

So I tried Configurable USB Loader, and got the exact SAME problem.

Then I decided to delete the image and have Configurable USB Loader try to extract it. Surprisingly, the new image worked! So I guess USB Loader GX did a poor job of getting the disc image... But it didn't notify of any errors.

So, Are some loaders better than others when it comes to extracting Wii disc images?

Clean rip is probably the best for this purpose, but it won't rip directly to wbfs only iso or split iso and you would probably want to concert to wbfs on PC after using wii backup manager.

Gx and cfg usb loader can generally rip just fine directly to wbfs, not sure why gx didn't work for you, was it an old version? Wiiflow lite doesn't have game ripping capabilities (hence the lite in the name)

yes, we don't know why, with either GX or Configurable USB loader, sometimes it works with either one or the other.
that's why I use the three loaders (wiiflow, GX and Configurable USB loader). at least, there is one that always works:rofl::rofl:

I'm not sure I made this clear, but after creating a new image with Configurable USB Loader, the backup image then worked perfect in BOTH loaders.

Is there anyway to make a native 4:3 game that dont have widescreen/16:9 option, for example resident evil remake to display in 16:9 ?

I don't think it's possible because that specific game has pre-rendered backgrouunds and would cause problems in 16:9 format. That is why it has black bands on the sides.

Sorry if this has been answered but I'd like to know if the behaviour I'm seeing is correct.

Setup 1
- Wii games on USB drive
- GCN games on SD
Result: All games are visible in USB Loader GX

Setup 2
- Wii games on SD card
- GCN games on USB drive
Result: USB Loader GX can only display one set of games at a time. SD Card mode "On" = Wii games show and GCN games don't. SD Card mode "Off" GCN games show but Wii games don't.

Is the behaviour in Setup 2 expected?

Hey guys, i got a minor issue with USB loader GX on my WiiU. Launching games works fine from my USB-drive wbfs formated. But somewhat i cant change the custom paths to get cover art. Everytime i try to modify them it only says "error". The path USB loader GX created is something like "usb8://" and there it cant create any folders.

Here is my syscheck. Thx in advance :)

I had this same issue.

First thing to check is that you're plugging in the hard drive to the top usb port on the back of the WiiU

If that doesn't work, then you're probably having the issue I had. The problem wound up being that my hard drive needs more power than the WiiU can spit out. I bought a USB Wye adapter to make it use both USB ports on the back, and now it works.

I'm having trouble with the Pokémon Colosseum Bonus disc and I have no clue what's wrong.
It launches just fine but when I pick an option on the in game menu it either crashes to the wii menu or freezes the wii entirely.
Is there some usbloader gx setting I need to change to get it to work?
I should specify that every other game I've tried works totally fine, it's just the colosseum bonus disc that does this.

If anybody is wanting channel view working on the vWii with priiloader installed, I have a patch and a dev build available linked in the description here: https://github.com/Jacoby6000/usbloadergx/pull/1

It definitely fixes the issue on my vWii. I'm not sure if it works on the wii yet.

You're referring to this issue right?

"vWii only - USB Loader GX currently has graphical glitches with the Channel Banners when Priiloader is installed"

I think this deserves its own post, because a lot of wii u users complained about that

Once this is tested we will try to have it uploaded to oscwii.org and downloaded by the open shop channel, homebrew browser, and modmii

@Gabubu will hopefully be able to work his magic and make it happen :)

Edit: hopefully this is just temporary until @blackb0x makes a triumphant return *crosses fingers*

Struggling getting Wii games to appear via SD on latest USB Loader GX on Wii U. Followed the guides down to the letter. When Loader GX boots I hit A to tell it to use SD, but it says 0 games and 0 of 0 space. I go into custom paths and everything says USB:8 or something and if I click to change things to SD it just says error in the popup.

All the games are on the SD in the wbfs folder from Wii Backup Manager.

I'm running Aroma if it matters on that side of things.
