Setup:
  • CBHC, USBLGX 1272 mod7 (e25c4e7)
  • meta.xml
    • bootios=IOS58
    • usbport=1
    • mountusb=1,
  • global loader IOS => cIOS 251(base58)
  • global game IOS => cIOS 251(base58)
  • vWii drive => port 1 (back lower)
  • WiiU drive => port 0 (back upper).
I wonder if cios base58 can run games like Call of Duty, Just dance and animal crossing?
IIRC base 58's compatibility isn't that high.

It'll become this...

Slot 249 base 56
Slot 250 base 57
Slot 251 base 38 (Wii) / base 58 (vWii)
IIRC base57 have very slightly higher compatibility than base 57 so is there a strong reason to revert back when Modmii and and wii.guide changed from 56/57 to 57/56?? that could confuse noobs even more

blackb0x, any wisdom on when you will be needing more beta testers? I have a WiiU still w/ hackchi & cleanly modded vWii with no repairs. I also have a Wii stashed away in a similar condition.
Maybe soon. I'm currently working on a new source for cheats.

Like I said in a previous post, that simply isn't true. People thought that it was, which is why it was changed, but over time both Cyan and myself have seen that it can cause some games to crash and certain accessories to not work.

Changing your cIOS won't be a requirement to use the loader, but if you do switch to the recommended setup then depending on your USB HDD it could improve how quickly some games are launched. And I might as well tell you now, but I'll be releasing d2x-v11 along with the loader so that RiiConnect24 works correctly from all USB loaders and the Wii system menu (when a cIOS is forced via Priiloader).

Both modmii and wii.guide will be aligning with this change too.

Just a reminder that even currently modmii's syscheck updater will consider either slot as valid, so it doesn't really matter much if u have 249 and 250 swapped but as blackb0x says there will be some loading time improvements if base 56 is in 249 after his next release

@blackb0x hi, with return to USB loader GX selected, loading GC from the loader and pressing R+Z+B+Down to return to the loader, loads homebrew channel instead on Wii.
On WiiU, it returns me to the loader.
Is this issue with the loader or Nintendont?
Several users reported this issue before.

As i only have CoD Black Ops from the cIOS compatibilty list. I can verify it runs with my IOS 58 setup.
@blackb0x

I completely agree with you on this nomenclature.

INFO:

@Sypherone :

my Wii console: (USB loader GX 1271 version):
IOS 56 ==> cios 249
IOS 57==>cios 250
IOS 58 ==>cios 251

I tested 2 Call Of Duty for about 5 minutes each, on each of the two consoles ==> Call Of Duty black ops and Call of duty MW3 in single player mode with CIOS 251 base 058 and they both work.

my Wii U console: (USB loader Gx 1272 version);
IOS 56 CIOS 249 vwii
IOS 57 CIOS 250 vwii
IOS 58 CIOS 251 vwii
The 2 Call Of Duty works correctly with the CIOS 251.

I mainly use the CIOS 249 and a little 250.

Stays only the question about all the guitar hero and sing star games which require normaly a base 56. As they not work with IOS 57 i will think not, or they work but mic cant be used.

@Nomado It's most likely caused by a bug in r1272 that I've already fixed for my next release.

I'll send you a patched copy of r1272 so that you can confirm that it fixes the problem on Wii U.

@jeannotte When I release the update you might want to consider adding base 38 to slot 248 on your Wii. And you'll understand why that might be a good idea soon.

This recommendation is only for jeannotte due to his existing setup.

Yes, That patch fixed the issue. Thanks.

This my setup and works flawless, no problems with Wii games or GC Games (cant tell about games who needs specific IOS).

Setup:
  • CBHC, USBLGX 1272 mod7 (e25c4e7)
  • meta.xml
    • bootios=IOS58
    • usbport=1
    • mountusb=1,
  • global loader IOS => cIOS 251(base58)
  • global game IOS => cIOS 251(base58)
  • vWii drive => port 1 (back lower)
  • WiiU drive => port 0 (back upper).

I helped others to set this up and worked :
Loader IOS 58 + game cIOS 251(base58), WiiU drive port 0 + vWii drive port 1
Thread 1 : WiiU+vWii two drives issue
Thread 2 : USBLX not work with WiiU drive plugged in

Yes, In his case that his system crashed after a few seconds. I would be happy if it would a none reproduceable one time issue. I could only give the suggestion to check some basic things. If this goes deeper, iam out atm.
interesting setup, im surprised that vwii support drive on port 1
do i need d2x v10 b53-alt to do that?

also how do you power 2 hdd on wii u back usb port?
my setup atm is vwii hdd on port 0 with y cable that plug into usb hub+etheret adapter on port 1
two front usb i use for wii u hdd & its y cable

This is an alternativ setup in case your drive doesnt work with USBLGX (e.g recognize/initialisation issues) by using dx2-v10-r52 on base 56/57 on port 0. The access to the USB drive and transfer speed is theoretically a bit slower.
This alternativ uses also the recommended d2x-v10-52, the beta-r53-alt is not needed and dont even use it.

Use a long USB- Cable pluged to the WiiU`s front port with an attached splitter, modified Y-Cable or your usb hub+ethernet adapter. There exist also the possibilty by soldering to remove the power limitation of the ports. And run them without Y-Cable by using a USB 2.0 compatible drive. A only USB 3.0+ drive will still need a Y-Cable.

Latest official version is USBLGX v3.0 r1272.
Then exists the modification r1272 mod 7 of it, which you get under the signature of blackb0x.
And latest inofficial updated version is the 3.1.1.1278-master (its just a tagged number, not related to a version) which is promoted as official version on the Open Shop Channel and Wii.guide.

okay, so new development: @Sypherone @blackb0x

IT WORKS! I had to use a combination of things from you and from Sypherone. You're second debug version did the exact same thing as the first one did when left at default settings. I removed the wii u drive from the wii u, and started it up with your debug version no problem with the vwii drive in port 0. I then changed the game and loader IOS in usblgx settings to 251 and restarted the wii. Tested with out the wii u drive in and no problems. restarted again and plugged in the wii u drive into slot 0 and the vwii drive into slot 1 like Sypherone said to do. She started right up! No problems so far! YAHOO!!!!

@JuicyJoseppi Thank you for the feedback. Happy gaming :yayu:

I'm having this problem, in this part the controller stops working and basically I fall off the wing and the game crashes.
Which cIOS you use to play Call of Duty - Black Ops? The game requires a cIOS with base57 or on vWii try the cIOS with base58 (need to seperatly installed on Wii). When you start the game, in the individual settings of the game the cIOS to use can be set. Check your syscheck what your installed cIOS look like.

Verify the game image is not corrupted by checking its HASH value. And run a check on the drive that there is no failure, with Powershell chkdsk X: /r (X -> driveletter). Depended on file amount, it takes ~1 h per 100gb data to complete the check.

That won't be a loader issue, but out of interest what mission is that? I'd try it myself if it's not too far into the game.

You can send me the patched file?
