CoD and Just Dance (including 2016) need IOS57. I'm not sure what titles need 58.

You can look at your game install folder with Wii Backup Manager and see what IOS the title is built for. :P

oh, I thought some games needed 58 to enable the USB accessories.

2016 works? it probably needed r52 instead of r53.
thanks. (I sometime forget things with all the info I read, ahaha)

about the wiiU install method : Too bad, I don't even play games on wiiu anymore, nothing interesting to me.
I didn't even play them with loadiine.
I'm more interesting in "making things working" than using them once it works.

Brother of a different mother. I'm exactly the same:lol:
I become OBSESSED with having everything working perfect and when I do, I lose interet in the PURPOSE of havinng it working perfectly in the first place :rofl2::rofl2:
Anyway, I love mario kart and play it all the time. Also, just got star fox. Decent game... Prefer mario kart though. Thing is, I love those types of games cause you can play them with friends. LIVE. I never got into the whole online thing to be honest... Maybe I'm just old school. Perfect dark and goldeneye raised me. :)

Yeah I borrowed my neighbor's copy when it came out because people were saying it didn't work at all. It loaded up just fine on 250[57]. :)

@Cyan TinyXML2 fix... LoadFile used to return bool but now returns an error code or 0 if successful. :)

Also, inexplicably, the GameTDB class doesn't use TinyXML.

Hey @GreyWolf quixk question. Just finished checking my games with WBM and just want to make sure I got it right. MOST games use ios 9,11,12 etc. Am I safe to asume that base 56 should take care of that?
So what I'm trying to ask is this: ANYTHING under ios57 (on WBM) should work fine with the default on usblgx (which I think is 249/base56?) And anything using ios 57 and above should use 250/base57. Am I right?

That sounds about right. Game IOSes correspond to the SDK version they were built with but it doesn't necessarily mean they won't run on a newer one. Once they started adding new features like USB peripherals it made a bigger difference as those modules aren't present at all in the earlier firmware versions.

Ok. So either everything with base57 or everything on 56 and only games running 57 and above with 57/58 respectively. That should do it.
Got it.
Thanks!

damn, then it became unstable again ?
It either reached a memory or filesize issue. We had it on a previous version (and users lost their HDD partition !)
Maybe users shouldn't use 1262...

I did some more testing and 1260 also doesn't work for me, so I have gone back to 1256.

It's worse than I thought though as even loading up and clicking on a Wii game causes it to stop when trying to load the banner, while the hard drive goes mental reading. I forgot that I updated it to mess around with latest nintendont and hadn't tried a Wii game.

I guess I have a lot more games on my hard drive than you do.

1256 works fine? though, it should have issues due to SSL code. Last stable was 1252.
thanks, that's a good start, I can see if I did something wrong with newer version.

did you test 1259 ?

Edit: if you need me to do more tests or to test a fixed version, don't hesitate
You didn't mention if this bug was only if "custom banner" was enabled or if the issue was the gamecube covers (not banner!)

Could you try 1259 too ?
I fixed a spelling error in 1260, but I don't know how it could work in previous version.
it was checking gamecube banner with the wrong extension (.nbr instead of .bnr) but custom banners was still downloaded ?

That banner download code has a "restore previously selected game list", but maybe it's wrong.

Re: Cover download bug.

From what I noticed it does actually restore the selected sources, It just doesn't refresh the list after scanning your games and letting you know how many covers are missing. (Pressing Yes or no to download makes no difference)

Opening say the homebrew launcher, then going back to a game view, the sources are reloaded correctly and all is good with the world again.

Can get unpredictable results in that temporary state of limbo if you try hard enough. :)

I was going to have a look myself but forgot. I don't often actually use the computer. Mostly just on the phone.

Hello, I'm using usb loader gx on vwii.
I have codes for baten kaitos a gamecube game on my sd card with fire emblem path of radiance codes. i can use the POR ones fine, but it doesn't show the BK ones. When i try to download them via usb gx i get an error. Anyone know what I can do?

I would also like to set up 2 controllers to both be the first controller and need help. Preferably a wii u pro controller and a gamecube controller through the adaptor.

IMG_4370.JPG

i followed this guide btw.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-vwii-hacking-guide.425852/

Do i not need the sneek folder or whatever?
Should the cheats be in "codes" or "txtcodes" folder in the root of sd?
is it possible to run everything from my external hd and not need the sd card anymore?

Thanks for any and all help in advance.

Thank you self_slaughter, that's probably the issue (restoring but not refreshing). I'll look in that direction.

@casey bandy:
I think the error for Baten Kaitos is perfectly normal, it means that there's no cheatcode for that game on geckocodes (the place where the cheats are downloaded from)
http://geckocodes.org/index.php?chid=G&r=*&l=b
List of games starting with "B" : only 2, and no baten Kaitos here.
Though, there's no Fire Emblem either...
all gamecube games

If you know where to get the gct or the txt, you can add the file yourself into your SD card.
rename the file to GKBEAF.txt or GKBEAF.gct
Put the txt into sd:/txtcodes folder, or the gct into sd:/codes folder.

if you add the txt, you will have to select the codes you want to enable, and generate the gct from the Ocarina menu. don't forget to enable the ocarina option too.
If you add the gct, you only need to enable ocarina option to apply all the cheats inside the gct file.

You don't need the sneek folder or the kenobigc.bin file anymore. it's now included inside nintendont.

About your controller :
you want 2 controllers to be assigned to the same player?
I don't know if it's possible nor how nintendont manage the controllers, sorry. You'll have to ask in nintendont thread about the controller's order.

About the HDD : yes you can run everything from the HDD, you don't need an SD card.
put everything on the same partition, preferably the first one.

I'll try anything if you give me a link. I can't find 1259 on https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/New revisions (3.0+)/

I don't think I'm using "custom banners", but I can't find the option anywhere. However the lockup I had earlier was when it was trying to display a Wii banner after selecting the game.

Sorry if I'm being a bit vague but I'm kinda sick and my brain isn't working, so remembering and finding stuff is hard. Otherwise I'd have grabbed the code and tried to figure it out myself.

I don't upload all revision to sourceforge, only the stable one (or at least I thought it was stable).

all revisions, including betas, are here :
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/t2x95zd9rz3rc/USBLoaderGX

don't worry, I'm also not feeling well today.
I'm also very slow to work on this, so take your time.

@smf How many titles do you have on your drive? It sounds like it's having trouble reading banners for some reason. I haven't been able to reproduce this with 1262 on my console.

@Cyan the game id? for baten kaitos and its sequel were mismatched with each other. I swapped them and its working now. I got everything to work from my external hard drive now, thank you for your help.

On another note, the banner animations for my gamecube games are replaced with a blurry thumbnail and the gamecube startup sound.

Gamecube titles only have a tiny image for a banner so the loader creates one on the fly. You can download custom banners with the 2 button.
