Hey guys,

so I installed my girlfriend the USB Loader GX so that she can play Kirby's Epic Yarn on the Wii. Everything is working fine, except the remote gestures are not working. Now she got stuck at a level where she has to tilt the remote in order to extinguish the fire with her firetruck. I was hoping I could avoid fixing the problem but it seems like there's no way around it.
Anyone has an idea how to fix the problem?

FYI: They are normal controllers (not remote plus). Also, not sure if relevant, in the Homebrew Channel the pointer of the remote is upside down and inverted... Maybe that's related to some kind of issues...
For the installation I followed exactly the instructions of this video:
So Homebrew installed, the cIOS installer, USB Loader GX, files transfered with the Wii Backup Manager

Any help is very much appreciated!

Kind regards
Freddy

that has nothing to do with USBLoaderGX.
once the game is launched, the loader is not in memory anymore. the loader only tell the console which game to launch, and optionally patches it for cheatcode, that's all.

is the wiimote official from nintendo ?
some third parties accessories can have problem with some homebrew or games.

Hey Cyan,
thanks for your reply! Yes, the Wiimote is officially from Nintendo... It also works without a problem when I play an actual game from a CD (i.e. Wii Sports). Also, the ROM itself doesn't seem to be the problem as other games (I tried New Super Mario Bros Wii) have the same issues with the gestures.

Is there any other possible reason for this problem?

maybe the cIOS ?
old rev19 & 20 had wiimote issues, but I don't remember your problem being part of it. it was more freeze or non detected wiimotes.
But, let's check.

do you know which cIOS version and base you have in your slot (usually slot249) ?
if you don't, you can follow syscheck guide from my signature and post the result here. we will see if you have to update anything.

you don't have old cIOS, but last 2 releases.

in slot250 you have the best one (v10 r52, base57)
in slot249 you have a bad one (v10 r53, base56)

please, change your USBloader's settings to use 250 instead of 250 249. (thanks for noticing the mistake)

But one thing I didn't took in account :
When you are in HBC, there's no cIOS involved. it's using IOS58 and shouldn't be a problem for wiimote.
the HBC is fully upsidedown if you use a patched IOS58, but your problem is not fully upside down, only the wiimote pointer, so I'm not sure. maybe the sensor is faulty, or you have too much light in your room or parasite light (direct sunlight on the wall, etc.)

Hello,

Cyan said this:
please change the settings of your USB charger to use 250 instead of 250.

He meant using the 250 instead of 249.

At Cyan:
For the pointer upside down in the HBC, you have to uninstall the HBC, then reinstall it without leaving the application with Hackmii install ??

I already saw this on other forums and it worked

ah, I don't know, it's worth a try :)

So, get hackmii installer from hack.mii website (or modmii).
instead of extracting the boot.elf to SD root, put it into a folder in apps, for example /apps/hackmii/boot.elf
launch it from HBC.

once in the installer, and if your IOS58 is unpatched and clean, you'll end in a menu where you can install/uninstall things.
choose HBC > uninstall
once done, DO NOT EXIT.
go back to HBC > Install
once done, you can now exit the hackmii installer app.

Hey guys,

it works now :O. Honestly, I have no idea why it does, though. I wanted to change the slot from 249 to 250 so I opened up the Homebrew channel. For some reason my pointer was no longer upside down, it worked just fine. So I tried how the pointer behaves when ingame without changing the channel and now the gestures are recognized! I have no clue why it works now, maybe the SysCheck changed something?
Anyway, it works now, so thank you very much for your help!

P.S.: Should I still change the channel? I'm worried that it might mess things up again.

@Cyan @GreyWolf I couldn't make a thread for this bc I'm new but can I possibly use a disk space through drivedroid on my phone to load games on usbloadergx? its been hanging at initializing usb for a while and after i changed the version of usbloadergx to v8 final it just skips it

I used wii backup manager to format two different usb devices and it hard bricked them both trying to format. drivedroid is all i can afford now, it has formatted fine and its convenient to just use the space on my android tbh but I'm not sure why it won't initialize it.
