Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if there is a better way to use USB Loader GX. Currently I have it on my SD card and I load it like this:

1) Start Wii
2) Start Homebrew Channel
3) Start USB Loader
4) Pick Game
5) Start Game

The problem is, if my kids want to stop playing a game and choose a different one they have to go back to the Main Wii Menu and start from step 2 i.e. launch Homebrew Channel, launch USB Loader etc...

Is there an easier way to get from one game to another? I think I saw someone who had UBS Loader as like a channel of it's own for example... Is that possible? How can you do that?

Thanks

Todd

It's pretty simple. You can install a forwarder channel, that will be a shortcut from the Wii menu.
You can find it from here

Make sure to chose the version that is appropriate for your console (Wii, or WiiU vWii), and install the .wad file with the wad manager of your choice.

Thanks good to know that's an option. I know nothing about wad managers, so will do some research, but great to know this is possible. Thanks so much!!

just like what VinsCool said:
1. download usb loader gx forwarder. linky
2. install it with wad manager like (multi mod manager). another linky
3. in USB Loader GX settings > loader settings > Return to : select "usb loader gx" the forwarder channel you have just installed.

now your kids no longer need to start homebrew channel as there will be USB Loader GX channel in the Wii menu, and after they exit any game it will go back to USB Loader GX again.

Awesome! Thanks so much both - sounds exactly like what I'm looking for!

If its a wii, not vwii, I have a better way, you can install priiloader and autoboot USBLoader GX
It will work like this
1. turn on wii
2. play games

But only on wii, if you install priiloader on wii u's vwii it will brick

LOL. I like the simplicity of this

So, yes, it's a wii and not a wii u... Couple of questions about this:

1) I'm guessing you can still easily get to the main menu when needed right? I know it boots straight to USB Loader but can you exit back to the main menu when needed?

2) Also, I get that on startup it goes to the USB Loader but what happens when you're done playing a game and want to play a different game? This is where my query came from as I was looking for a quicker way to switch between games. The channel forwarder thing, will help with that, but not sure if this will or if it only cuts down time on first boot if you see what I mean...

Thanks

ok, first of all, if you want to boot to main menu, you hold the reset button on start up and it will load the priiloader menu, which in turn you can boot the wii menu, and you can also just eject the SD on boot, which will also take you to the wii home menu, and secondly, it will return to USBLoader gx when you exit a game.

As a extra bonus, you can change the exit menu in USBLoader GX to exit to either wii menu, homebrew menu or to shut off the console.

Wow! That simple now?!

So much catching up to do if I can find my old Wii, all I remember is that it was packed in a box inside anther box in a storage bin somewhere in that mess of a basement over at my old house...

Keeping tab of this thread for that day haha.

Oh, you wanted to use an SD card? Nah, we're gonna use some random SD card that's probably supposed to be used for transferring 150 gigabytes of data in 2 seconds just so that you can take a higher price.
