Hacking USB Loader GX GC memory card help

Hi, I am having issues with this loader. Every time I boot a GameCube game with a memory card inserted into slot A, the game says no memory card inserted. I have to then take the memory card out and reinsert it in order for the system to register that there is a memory card inserted. This happens with every game.

1) USB Loader GX.
2) Have you set your NMM settings correctly?
3) What is the size and brand of the memory card?

Yes I have nmm off and I have a 1028 block (64mb) memory card
