Hello! i recently softmodded a nintendo wii, i used the LetterBomb method to install the homebrew channell (1.1.2 IOS58 v24.32) Im using a simple 32GB Kingston USB DRIVE (FAT32), i installed USB LOADER GX and i transferred the games to the USB DRIVE with Wii Backup Manager the games are in the wbfs folder, all the WBFS Games seems to be ok, im pretty sure i downloaded and transferred them correctly to the USB Drive...
The issue is... when i try to load a game, the game starts, i can play it, for like... 5mins to 45minutes (the longest was with Pikmin 1) (the shortest with Super mario bros wii) and then suddenly the game freezes! its not a static freeze in a certain point, it can happen when i finish a level, access to settings,etc...
But here is the weird thing... for example, in RE: UMBRELLA CHRONICLES The character just wont move... i can use the knife, i can shot, i can change weapon, the sound is there but the game just stops! and when i try to EXIT TO THE MENU The nintendo wii freezes... this is happening with all the games actually, some last longer, others dont, i really need some help, i tried to change IOS, BLOCK IOS RELOAD, ERROR 002 FIX Settings and nothing seems to work... I think i have a compatibily problem because the HERMES in some IOS...but i don't know... Can someone help me please?

Flash drives don't have the best compatibility, so that could be the problem. You can try other versions of the d2x cios and see if you are lucky with that. Instead of v10beta52, try installing v8 or maybe v10beta53.

Well i can check and try different versions, i have tried to run some games at differentes IOS and dont seem to work, sometimes in IOS 249 i can play them for a few more minutes, sometimes in 250 it just black screen, etc... I'll need to check if it's a version problem... and also be sure about the TRUCHA BUG that i have in many IOS.
i have seen some SYSCHECKS of some users and they dont have a lot of Trucha Bug like mine...

Hello,

I believe the solution is:

OhOhOhOH, an external hard drive in FAT 32 :D , and everything will be fine (it's too good):yay::yayu::yay: :rofl2::rofl2:

Hello! I truly understand the External Hard Drives are better for compatibility reasons and of course more space for games ^_^
But i have been using the USB DRIVES Years before with an older nintendo wii that i had, that wii was modified in 2014 (it was not modified by me) but i used the same USB DRIVE to play, in that wii there was no problem with the games, everything worked perfect i already sold that wii to another person so i cannot search for the IOS Configuration, revisions, versions, etc, so i got this new one, i softmodded it, tried to load the WBFS Format games and they don't seem to work... (freezes) I just want to make sure it's not a cIOS/IOS Problem with my nintendo wii, someting i installed wrong... Thanks for answering and read :)

PD: Eventually i'll look for a cheap HDD the reason im still using the USB DRIVES Is because i just play a few games that i don't have in physical format, like Mario galaxy, Pikmin, resident evil, project zero, etc. i want to do every possible method to make the games work in the USB just before think in buying a HDD.

@jeannotte

I think i have ''FIXED'' the issue in some way...
I have another NINTENDO WII which is not compatible with Nintendo Gamecube games so, i installed the d2x v10 beta52 cIOS into the slot 249,250 and the games seems to work perfect, everything works good, the resolution looks different in this 2nd WII but the games works!
So... i can play! But im still curious... it is possible the other nintendo wii its not compatible with usb flash drives? what could be the reason i can play in this wii but in the other one i can't? the wii version?

Hello,

Personal opinion:

I think that the USB keys do not have enough power to function properly (it is damaged over time).

even Cyan, a regular on the forum  , could perhaps explain it to you in great detail, but I'm not sure, he will tell you the same as me, using a hard drive.

some USB sticks work, but eventually die.:hateit:

Hey!

I appreciate your opinion and i will take it... :yaywii:

Im going to look for a cheap hard disk drive and use it for the wii that its giving me problems loading games with the Flash Drive because i want to have all in one, GAMECUBE/WII/EMULATORS/etc...

Meanwhile I'll use the remaining life time of this USB's :gun::sp:

JUST A QUICK QUESTION:

In any case i get the HDD and i use it for the wii and it happens the same (Games Freezing) i need to continue this thread for help? or need to create a new one?
