Hello, please im having a hard time solving this problem, i used to play xenoblade on my usb on wii using usb loader GX, than i had to stop playing for a long time when i borrowed the wii to my brother, and now that i have it back, i cannot make any loader to recognize the usb with xenoblade.

I updated every IOS, cIOS and everything with modmii, i formatted my usb to FAT32 and tried again wii backup manager to transfer the game, and again no sucess, im completely lost as to how to fix this.

i also tried different use of d2x versions, base cios, and again no success

the USB is on port 0, the one near the edge at all times

here is the syscheck log:

You are on 4.3U and you are missing some IOS.
You probably deleted them, or let a homebrew delete them.

You need to (re)install patched IOS in slot 249 and 250.
There are guide all over the forum to let you (re)softmod your console correctly.

After adding these files, the USBLoaders will work.

Thanks for the answer! the problem is that every guide i use for resoft the wii, wont fix the main problem, i already used 2 giants guides, followed everything to the letter, but the problem still persists. and it cant be the pendrive since it worked before, so i dont know how to fix this

Like I told you, it's not the pendrive, it's the missing IOS.
You need to install IOS (and more precisely, the "custom IOS" in slot 249 is the one you need for USB backup loading).

There's no need for giant guides.
You only need 2 files to install using a wad manager. That's all. Two files, which can be downloaded using modmii program.

Run modmii, search for the cIOS download section in the program, and select these two files :
cIOS d2x v8, base 56, slot 249
cIOS d2x v8, base 57, slot 250

download them, you will find these files in the wad format somewhere in the modmii folder.
Put them on your SD card, and install these files using a Wad manager on your wii.

Thanks again for the answer!

of the two guides i mentioned, one of them teached to use modmii, and i installed many ios and cios wads, so im pretty sure these 2 cios are already installed, but even so i downloaded these 2 you mentioned and installed using Wad Manager, unfortunately usb gx loader and cfg loader still wont detect the pendrive, i used Wii backup manager, the pendrive is formatted on a fat 32, so i have no ideia why this still isnt working...

the syscheck log you posted doesn't mention anything installed in slots above 202, so your either forgot to copy/past that part, or syscheck hanged out and didn't output anything past 202, or your wii doesn't have cIOS 249 and 250.

ok, so now I see that you have IOS d2x installed in slot 249 and slot 250.
But they are not correctly installed for USBLoading.

in slot 249, you should install a cIOS which is based on IOS 56 (your current cIOS installed in this slot is based on IOS58, the value in bracket)
Your slot 250 is fine.

The version is fine for both (v8 and v10 are the same, though v10 has a better HDD compatibility).
So, when you reinstall your cIOS in slot 249, you can install v10Beta52 too

The revision can be either:
- 210xx (xx being the version of the cIOS), 21008 for version8, 21010 for version 10
- 65535 (the maximum version)
in both case, loaders should work the same way, but it's better in my opinion to use 210xx format, so you know which version you currently have just by looking at that value.

What you need:
IOS249[56] (rev 21010 or rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52)
IOS250[57] (rev 21010 or rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52)
in red = the differences with your current console's state.

don't revirginize, it's useless. revirginizing and re-softmodding will produce the same state as you actually have.
The USBLoaders use only what's installed in your slot 249, and it's now fine. You don't need anything else.

It's really a problem at detecting the HDD or a problem at listing the games once the loader is running?

If it's a HDD detection problem, maybe you didn't connect the drive in the correct port? you need to plug in Port 0
This is the one near the edge of the console, near the bottom when the console is horizontal.

If it's still not working, try another HDD. not all HDD are compatible.

If it's a game listing problem, try another filename/path name in Wii backup Manager.

It finally worked!!!

for the record i will put it here what i did to make it work!

it worked on CFG Loader v70 r62MOD (something like that) and i also used this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-g...llation-guide-original-wii-consoles-only.html and installed all the d2x v10 beta53alt cios listed on the guide after that usb loader gx still did not detect the pendrive but CFG Loader did it!

now i just wanted some quick tip, xenoblade is occupying 4GB of 7,5GB. can i download gamecube games and play then on cfg loader without uninstalling xenoblade? if so how can i do that on cfg loader?

Thanks!!

cIOS v10 beta53 has better USB compatibility, but less Emulated NAND compatibility.
If you don't use EmuNAND, then beta53 is good for you. Though, that's strange that USBLoaderGX still doesn't work.
If you said that it used to work, you probably had an older cIOS version before. Why not try older version again?
Instead of v10, you could try v9, then v8. (you shouldn't need to test older version than v8).
Always remember to install a base56 in slot 249, and base57 in slot250.
Base 56 is used for most games
Base 57 is needed for Call of Duty

There's also a possibility that base58 has better compatibility for your flashdrive, though base58 has less game compatibility.

Xenoblade is not 4GB, it's a dual layer DVD game. If your copy is only 4GB then it's underdumped and it will freeze at some point as it's missing game's data.

I don't know CFG loader very well, I think it works with GameCube games and DIOS MIOS / DIOS MIOS Lite.
You need to place the gameCube iso in this folder :
SD or USB root : /games/Game's Title [Game's ID]/game.iso
Only change the middle part. filename MUST be "game.iso" (not the game's name.iso)

for example :
SD:/games/Zelda WindWaker [GZLP01]/game.iso

Then you also need to install DIOS MIOS (if you put the iso on USB) or DIOS MIOS Lite (if you put the iso on SD) before launching the game from a loader.

This thread is from 2013. If you're using a flash drive that's likely the problem.

Hi, I'm having problems trying to get my Fat32 USB to be detected by USB Loader GX 3.0 Before, I was having problems with trying to load the games I transferred using Wii Backup Manager however upon loading the games, I would get returned to the system menu. I'm not sure what I can do as I'm fairly new at this kind of stuff.

Here's my sysCheck log:

By the way, for those, who couldn't fix this problem by reinstalling IOS, sometimes trouble can be caused by multiple partitions on USB drive. For example - Wii stopped reading my drive correctly, just because Wii tried to read it's system-reserved partition, but not the correct one. If wii sees only small part from big drive, be sure that loader settings are incorrect and force loader to read correct partition. Usually, such settings can be found in bottom-left corner(with gear icon), "hard disk settings" label, upmost line makes loader read selected partition.
