Can USB launched games force system updates, about to start playing more games, and was just wondering?

Nope, they launch the game directly. No updating needed or even possible.

I do not believe so, but if you are that worried about it, download the latest system menu wad from NUS to avoid losing your hacks.

You can even install PriiLoader and have it block the system menu from updating all together. That way you can even play the normal way without worries.

Basically what they said. The only way a game loaded from the USB will update itself is if you're running it in sneek and load games form the disc channel.

Even if it's xNEEK and it tries to update I think it will just update your xNEEK and not your actual system menu. No harm done, not even to the xNEEK, I think. neek2o can even be set to block those updates, too, though.
