I bought a faulty system to repair which I did but the charger I was using has since killed it. :( I was using an apple 5v charger and a standard usb-c cable as that's all I had, after some research I think it died because the USB cable doesn't have a 56k resistor in it? can anyone confirm? It powers on (eventually after lots of button pressing) displays the nintendo logo then goes off, it also won't dock (flashing green light).

If I am able to get it going again it had some games installed from the previous owner, will it be possible to keep these games and make my own account / remove the parental lock or is it a case of losing all the data once I use my own account?

Did you charge via the Dock or via the cord directly? A 5v charger won't kill your switch. What was the original defekt you bought it with. Does the switch charge when putting a charger directly into it?

Well it's an Apple 5.1v USB A charger that I used with a USB-C cable (most likely without the 56K resistor) and I used it to charge two systems one with water damage that I cleaned up and one with just a software issue (came up with an error message). Now they both only show the Nintendo logo and both go off, it's possible the first one would have done this anyway with a proper charger but as I say the second one does it now so I think my 5v charger did kill them, or at least make them worse. :(

I've got an official charger now.

I changed the BQ24193R on the water damaged one and it's made no difference, I'll try changing the M92T36 next. Does anyone know of any other cause for Nintendo logo then nothing? I noticed most issues manage to make it to the switch logo at least.
