So i’m getting a Gamecube modded with the Xeno chip, and one of the things i plan on doing with it is sending over legit event Pokemom from Colosseum and XD to my 3rd gen games. It can load the iso of the Japanese Bonus Disc, but that requires there to be a Japanese save file from Colosseum on my memory card. I’ve seen a couple conflicting things about how the memory card works. Can i somehow import a Japanese save file from an SD card to my actual memory card? Because i think that’s the only way i can get the Celebi from the Bonus Disc to work.

yes you can but as mentioned, don't mix different regions in one memory card. (even if you have for example a animal crossing USA save, and want to put a jpn pokemon save, this will corrupt ya card due to the different character sets or something like that)

PS: the JPN events will only be delivered to the JPN gba versions of the games.

Japanese and American consoles have the same ROM (the motherboards differ by one 0 ohm SMD resistor), but it's American and European ones that can share a memory card - these have filesystem names in ascii, where the Japanese ones use shift-jis

I assume there's a way to backup GBA saves via a GC link cable, if that's true then you can always use PkHeX... but Japanese pokemon will not look right on international Gen 3 games, iirc, due to charset differences in the game

Obtain on a Japanese game then trade it to the English game

deliver the gift from the gamecube to a gba jpn game, then trade the celebi to a US game
yeah the japanese bonus disc will refuse to deliver the celebi to a US cart.

Memory cards are supposed to be formatted based on the console's region.
As opposed to the game disc's region.

Most of the confusion is because modchips, and things like Freeloader, let you play games from other regions without changing the internal system region.
