Gaming Upgrading to 360 S

You should burn it! Jk, I'm not sure I would get a slim if I had a 360 already but if I were to choose prolly the gamestop credit would be beneficial, lately the modding 360's doesn't seem worth it anymore and I actually kinda miss buying games as weird as that sounds.
It's not wierd. I am legit now, buying all my games. I noticed that I have lost the need to gain achievements once I went legit.

yeah sometimes it seems like pirating makes you play games less, i dont plan on modding my 360 but i modded the crap out of my wii and i never really played any of the games i dled, then i bought smg2 and i got pretty far (i quit when i got my 360) this is why im never modding teh 360 and going all the way legit, and anyway its been out so long theres a crapload of awesome games you can get super cheap anyway

It's funny tho cause I play the wii games I ripped from friends. Cause there is still somewhat of a legit attachment.

Xbox 360 S is much better deal than grabbing lots of extra hardware thats overpriced.
Just dont EVER move it if a disc is running inside it.

I just bought a D-Link Dir 655 and use it as a wireless adapter for my Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 (JTAG ftw btw!).
Its as cool as sliced bread with awesomeness on it. xD

I'm not trying to say it is a bad idea to upgrade to the 360 S so let me start with that. It is a really good looking system and I like the features and the new functions it has on the front panel.

Now, hard drive price shouldn't be too much of an issue these days. MS doesn't ban for modified 250GB drives that are modified to work in your current system. This has been well known for a long time and it makes sense since you can buy these on ebay and dealextreme relatively cheap.

The built in wifi is plugged into an internal USB port inside the system. But as far as I recall, wifi in laptops are done in a very similar way just the connector usually doesn't look like a usb port as I think I have seen it does inside the new 360 S.

I also read that the new 360 S uses x clamps whereas a modern old style xbox 360 does not. Someone needs to prove / disprove this because I do not know if this is fact.

If it was me, I'd be buying the 360 S for looks. I went ahead and bought an arcade for $100 after gift card and I'm happier with that than forking out $300 for another system of the same kind as I already own. $300 plus some extra change should be enough money to buy a PS3 so that holds me off from purchasing this.

There is also one other thing notable to mention is that there is a rumor going around that there's going to be an arcade version of this system coming out for $199. Also rumors state that the current arcade is being clearanced at stores in order to make room for the new S models and the older style ones will be completely phased out. These both are rumors but I belive in time they will be proven to be true much like any price drops in the past have been proven true and actually this time the price drop was true right away.
