Hacking Upgrading from A9LH to B9S: Cant boot into chainloader menu

I'm upgrading my console from A9LH to B9S using this guide: 3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s

for reference I have a new 3ds running 11.5

I copied over all of the files and have double checked thoroughly but still my ds will not load into the luma3ds chainloader menu, i also can't load into the configuration menu if that's helpful information.

Name safeb9sinstaller to arm9loaderhax.bin and put that on your SD card. The console should autoboot into the b9s installer so you can install it.

just tried this, no luck. console still boots to the home menu

did you use the firm or the bin? you need to rename the safeb9sinstaller.bin to arm9loaderhax.bin and put that on the SD card root where lumaCFW would normally go (do not put it in the payloads folder)

if this fails then the only possible reasons why are that you no longer have A9LH installed or that you already upgraded to B9S. if you installed B9S then you can try to boot the luma boot.firm by downloading the lumaCFW and copying the boot.firm to the sdcard root. if this fails then you have neither A9LH nor B9S and are on stock FW for some reason.
