Upgrade Hard drive Size

I'm wanting to upgrade my Xbox's hard drive space. I've had my eye on a few sizes but i have a few questions.
Does every drive on the compatibility chart work?
Does the Drive need to be IDE?
What size would y'all recommend?

Softmodded. I've viewed tutorials on it about what you need and how to do it. That is no issue. But, i would like some input over which harddrive to get.
