S4 barely has anything over the S3 except the "octa-core" that doesn't even work.
Maybe get a LG G3 or HTC One M8.
Only 4 cores can work at once. At best it's gonna save you some battery.The octo-core, does work. There is a big step up trust me and a big noticeable difference, especially if you go the same route as me by putting google edition or aosp on it

The main problem with the nexus devices tend to be that their battery performance tends to be fairly bad in comparison to many other phones. That being said, the next Nexus phone might be a step up in that regard so waiting like you said might not be a bad idea.wait for the next nexus. not only it _should_ be cheap, it will have all the latest feature for a long time in the mobile world cause its a nexus.
