Hacking Updating to 3.3

I just recently bought a Wiikey and my Wii is at firmware 3.2something, I am going to install the homebrew channel and I wanted to know...would it matter if I upgraded to 3.3? I don't want to get the Nintendo Hammer

I have been wondering the same thing.

On other threads I see people saying you have to update to 3.3 before you install the Wiikey. But I am still also at 3.2. So I'm not going to update just yet until I find out some answers.

Homebrew Channel works on 3.3
You just need the newest version of the Twilight Hack to install it, which you should have anyways.

You can install it before or after the 3.3 update.
All 3.3 does is block Trucha signed disks, but they can be loaded with GeckoOS.

Meh, it doesn't matter. I suppose if Nintendo did manage to do an update that blocked drive chips in 3.4x, then you would have wished that you updated to 3.3x. I have a feeling that a new update will be coming in September nearer the release of Animal Crossing to 'prepare' it for WiiSpeak.

I know you have to turn off Wiiconnect when installing it because it won't work later on. But...

No. I was on 3.2 when I installed mine. But I updated because I completely forgot about the Trucha Signing...But it doesn't really bother me. You can update if you want to, but it's not necessary.

Yes, everything on there is completely up-to-date.
