Hacking Updating Softmodded Wii

I just installed Homebrew channel on my Wii using the Smash Stack PAL method, I also managed to install USB Loader GX. In order to get one of the IOS's to install I had to connect my Wii to the internet which I did. Now whenever I want to play a legit game such as Super Mario Galaxy 2 it's asking for a System Update. I'm currently on 4.3E. If I update will it brick my Wii or have any consequences( I'm sure it does) ? And is there any way to bypass this? Because my younger sister usually plays on the Wii I cleared my Connection settings so if she does click system update it shouldn't work, right? Thanks in advance, I know these are noob questions.

use modmii
it will update all ioses and will block updates
